My friend lost a bet
My buddy lost a bet and is responsible for buying some smokeables. Being the jerk that I am, I was wondering what the best place to take him to would be, as far as a coffeeshops. I want to make sure he is buying the best, and a decent variety. Preferably someplace that has jelly hash as well. Most of the shops I like are small, with a limited variety (Grey Area, El Guapo, etc.), and I want to make sure he can buy enough of a variety to make losing the bet sting a bit.

Barneys is indeed overpriced, but without the Irish breakfasts they used to have I refuse to go there. After they won the cup they just went downhill imo. I'd like to sting him, but more by taking him to a place that has a larger high end menu. Then he will have to buy quite a bit at a justifiably high price, and in a sense, we both win
c'mon tell what bet he lostbubblebelly wrote:Barneys is indeed overpriced, but without the Irish breakfasts they used to have I refuse to go there. After they won the cup they just went downhill imo. If you really want to get yer hands on some high-priced, high octane gear then Bushdocter is where you should take yer pal. Unfortunately, the menus for Bushdocter at FBN's site are woefully out-of-date but they should give you an idea if how much they charge:bubblebelly wrote:Barneys is indeed overpriced, but without the Irish breakfasts they used to have I refuse to go there. Bushdoctor Ice Menu from Feb. '09
Some salient points regarding Bushdocter:
- Bushdocter specializes in expensive ice-o-lators ranging from €35 to €55 per gram. In the past, I've gotten wrecked on their Sunburst ice with no complaints. In general, they get positive reviews for their ice.*
- Bushdocter sells weed as well but in 2g quantities only, so once again the cost is higher (which is what u want, right?
) - They have 2 locations: one at Thorbeckeplein and the other on the Amstel. In keeping with their price gouging practices, you cannot sit upstairs without purchasing something to smoke and drink -- the budtender will actually physically block yer path. On the other hand, sitting on the Rembrandtplein getting baked out of yer gourd is a nice consolation prize.
- As alluded to above, the staff can be a pushy, ill-mannered lot. Put on yer poker face and know what yer getting yerself into.
- They're Italian and know how to make a decent espresso.
You should also take a look at the Coffeeshop Reviews section for Bushdocter.
Personally, I avoid Bushdocter for most of the reasons listed above, save for the last, but perversely, it seems to suit yer situation. Hope this helps.
