Tragedy at the Love Parade

What could the police do once it starts? That event was fucked before it even started.sh@dy wrote:friends of mine were there....like usualy in those situations, the police is of no help.
I cant understand how people always start running when paniking....
the city itself was never build for such an event and making this tunnel the ONLY entrance is like a kamikazi-project
No party is worth hanging out with 1.4 million people. That is double the entire population of Amsterdam....
The police stopped the people once the panic had started, so from one side they were pulling with thousands of people and on the other end of the tunnel the police was pulling so no one could go through....the other thing is, the organizer put fences around the area....that has never been done in the history of the loveparade, when the panic happened the people had to destroy the fence before they could run off the area.
I dont blame the police for it happening, there are as usualy many parties who were involved.

truelly truelly terrible.
i dont know the details, but i feel that in theese situations, usually no one party is to blame. if a positive can be taken from this, hopefully it will be that thesafety of future ens will be better. i do hope this doesnt mean he end of the love parade either!
ive never been in a real tradgey but twice in my life ive been in a crowd crush, once i was taken off my feet and swept along as the crowd surged.... it is terryfying experience....and i know that self preservation starts to kick in, which only makes things worse.....
once again, this is a heartbraking thing.

What a senseless way to die, if there is such a thing a sensible way. I think one of the dead was a 22 year Dutch kid.
