bummer ... really sorry to hear that

my suggestion is to read geekymonkey's travelogues with her descriptions of what she has been smoking ... her writing is superb and with your imagination you might just be able to fill in the sensory gaps ...

Looking for some sativa's prefably. And want to check out the sweetest tasting varieties out there.

So what strain do you recommend, what does it taste like and where can you get it?

Cheers,

Only thing I would say is that sativas generally don't "taste" as much as indicas. But I'm sure you already know that seeing as you mentioned the sweetness.

Also, some sativa batches (even for the same strain) can range from smelling a lot to smelling very little. This does not always correspond with how strong and well grown/cured the bud is.

I suggest you try some strains and see if you like the flavour. After a while you will either want more of it or not.

For example, for a long time I was bored of the signature Amnesia taste. But lately, I have been sampling many different Amnesias and enjoying.

Chocolope definitely has a very unique smell and taste. It is supposedly 95% sativa but I was amazed to read that because it is not an especially strong sativa strain.

Super Silver and Amnesia are maybe the most widespread strains of sativa you are going to find in Amsterdam. This makes them great for comparing and getting a damn good buzz too because they are both strong also. So I recommend you check these out.

Some good places I recommend:

Hunters: both strains (and G13 Amnesia). All Hunters sativas are tight nugs, always.
Eerste Hulp: Amnesia (haven't tried their SSH yet) - bargain 9 euro
Boerenjongens: Amnesia, tight nugs (they also have G13 crosses for both)
Rokerij: Amnesia (beware though, 1 in 4 of their batches is more like blue cheese!. They have a decent SSH too, nothing amazing) - bargain 8 euro
Rookies: Amnesia lately has been excellent, tight nugs.

Beware, it is hard to find good quality sativas. Many places give you badly cured nugs that are not tight. Instead they are what I call "wispy" i.e. the opposite of tight.

Was in dam last week, hunters chocolope was VERY tasty, as was their amnesia haze and NYCDiesel.
For taste you have to try some cheese. Grey Area had some great big buddah cheese last week.
