hey guys, has anybody stayed here? im gonna be there in october. its so cheap im not expecting much. i have read somewhere u can smoke in there, is that true? and is it true about the church bells going off every 15mins? ive been to a-dam 7 times and ive always been in that area but i dont remember church bells going off all the time, can anybody set me right?

anyway thanks for your help in advance :D

Haven't stopped at Hotel Ben before, but stayed a few times at the Hotel Beurstraat, almost next door...

If it's anything like that place, then take some earplugs - it gets quite noisy round there, especially at the weekend... you're so close to the RLD that you get all the tourists wandering past at all hours, and yes, the church bells can be quite a surprise the first time! :shock:

Cheap doesn't always mean nasty - unless you've been unfortunate enough to book the Quentin Arrivee, in which case you'd be best to start off early by getting yourself robbed and then piss, puke and shit your way up each of the landings until you reach what they laughingly call "your room". That will save them the effort of doing it all for you later on.
