Hi from Loving Amsterdam,

The apartment is available for your dates but we are awaiting confirmation on 2007 prices. The apartment is smoker friendly as are many of our Amsterdam apartments. Those that are not have it clearly stated on the apartment description page.

Kind Regards
Kate

Also I have to pay more due to diff. in Eu. When I was htere in May it was 1eu=$ 1.23 u.s. Hope it's better next year, but not holding my breath. Why don't you sign on to MSN and we can chat in real time!!

Umm maybe this is where my stoner memory lets me down but I'm pretty sure I din't vote on either poll as of yet (I can still cast mine now on the threads, so pretty confident none of the votes were mine).

I was confident of a trip over 4/20 next year, but currently in a see-saw battle over whether to hold off for a week and enjoy QueensDay '07. The pictures from lctricity and other HIP forum members made it almost too painful to consider not going to the next QD!!!

I can't see anything getting set in stone for another few months (at least until after my july trip) although I did notice that some hotels had availabilities for next April 30th so I am keeping an eye out as always. At first glance I am looking at a 7 night stay from the 27th April - I notice this will give me a nice weeks holiday with QueensDay in the middle, and I may get the chance to share a smoke with any 4/20 left over members (I know Twicth is there until the 29th).

No worries man, I may have read a little deeper into that than I should have... might have been excitement from this Dam starved stoner :?

cooking

Post by Twitch »

One of the nice things about renting apt. is they usually have nice kitchen and can have some meals there, saves money in the long run. Many of the apts. we have looked at have flat screen t.v's stereo etc. so can cool out rather than just having a room to sleep in. Not trying to talk anyone into anything, just that I have done both and have found it to be cheaper in the long run when sharing costs.

Always nice to have more of the home comforts when you go abroad but if I was in an apartment that had the flat screen and the stereos and whatever then I would probably treat each shop as a grab and go place and spend most of the time in the safety and comfort of the apartment during the day then chill for a bit before going out at night (for beer).

The best thing about hotel rooms (that I have been in) in Amsterdam is that you don't have any home comforts (apart from TV where only English TV is BBC or CNN) and so feel more motivated to get your ass into gear and out of there.

I must admit that, while I am not completely anti-social, I do like to have my own space to be able to do things in my own way and in my own time.

There's a room at Rookies with my name on it,.

Will be seeing a lot of you then Doog, because the room at Rookies, which are nice and clean, is very small for a single. You don't want to hang out in there to long, only to sleep and get cleaned up.
You're more then welcome to hang out with the wife and I while your in town. We'll keep you out of your room all day, partying and having fun. AzLaker 8)

Yep, that's the general idea. Space isn't incredibly important. Shower and a safe and a bug free bed is all I need.

Looking forward to exploring that area of the city, and if the opportunity arises then I would be more than willing to take you up on your offer of tour guide.

You'll like Uptown/Rookies Doog, everything you want and bug free. Hopefully Rookies will still have their beer license when we get together for 4/20. Always nice to have a bar downstairs from your room.  AzLaker 8)

Not sure if I'll be able to make it yet, hopefully though =)

I was looking at houseboats before I went last time, had this one bookmarked that could be quite good:

Works out pretty reasonably aswell, and is smoker friendly unlike most houseboats :D

Just in case your wondering I'm the 7th vote for a yes. I've only been on here a ew weeks but you all seem like quality people and it's looking like I'll be heading out the the dam alone next April and so sharing an apartment sounds like a great idea.

To answer Rez's questions I don't mind sharing a bathroom or even a room but definatly not a bed. Oh and on the money issue I'm willing to send whoevers booking it a deposit if they want it.

Now time to try and get to sleep as it's only 37 hours till party time.
