Solo (formerlly StiX)

Post by HighJackerrr »

There is one place I will strongly recommend which is close in and believe it or not, the friendliest, chill place I know of in the center. The place is now named Solo and was formerly named Stix. (There is still one name Stix, but the other one is now name Solo). This nice little coffeeshop has a very nice, laid back atmosphere, but is not a dungeon or cave like setting or a den like setting. It has a nice big open window overlooking a canal and the budtender and staff have always been very cool and helpful and the overall feel of this place is very locals only like...but you are welcomed if not a local, of course! :) Check it out on the map, its the one over to the right of the red light district and close to the top right of the map...probably being still listed as Stix.

Enjoy!

Yeah I love that shop (it's located on the Korte Konningstraat), that Paradox and Yoyo would be my top 3 for nice quiet local coffeeshops.

I'd recomend Club Media at the Albert Cuyp market.Great weed at cheap prices, food, drink cheap too, usually only a couple of locals in,friendly service and the shop is spotlessly clean, all these things make it imo a good place to take your girl, mine(non toker)likes this place too.
Don't know about the cakes, bring some with you if they don't sell them though,a nice chilled shop to relax in,maybe better for a daytime session, might be 'boring' for some due to its quietness.
Peace,Embraman

I would highly recommend Extreme Coffee Shop. It is a very "chill" shop with good product, especially the Cheese when I was there in June, and the Budtenders are nice. I also agree with Ftcarrers recommendation, Betty Boop! It is very close to where you will be staying. Anyday Coffee Shop is also pretty close to the Ibis. The upstairs is usually fairly quiet, especially early, and they have some good good Gear, notably the Afghan delight.
