Fearless on the Feits

...and it's TOO much fun.

Met two fellow Americans my first day here, and told them I couldn't WAIT to get on the road. "No way!" was their reply "It's too crazy for a bike!"

Exactly.

What's that I see in the sky? Could it be the sun? Perhaps the St. Nick Boat Club is running. There's always more church towers to climb. I could enjoy a spliif and shake at Basjoe on a nice day, or better yet I'll go see if I can meet up with that cute bartender I met in a cafe on Warmoestraat.

More pics as time allows.

APARTMENT PAUL: ONLY WAY TO FLY

Before I get too stoned and forget this morning, I wanted to relate what a fanTASTIC guy Apartment Paul is, and the apartment I'm occupying is first rate.

There was a bit of a problem w/ PayPal upon my arrival, and Paul was gracious enough to allow some time (up to FIVE days he was willing) to solve the issue. (I got his payment within a few hours.)

Wow. He doesn't throw my ass on the street and was willing to work with me.

Great guy.

Wonderful apartment. Fantastic deal on long stays.

I'll not stay anywhere else.

Relaxing Day

Rainy and drizzly this morning...perfect for a coffeeshop.

Wandered into Dutch Flowers and found a lovely Steely Dan album on the sound system. Bud tender said he liked smooth and easy music in the morning; me, too. Spyro Gyra is another morning favorite.

Anyway, purchased some bud and rolled a "Good Morning America" joint.

Not used to these bloody huge papers but loving the filter end thing. I'm a bit crap with the rolling so no laughing at the funny looking spliif, eh?

Wandered the Spui really, really high however that got a bit boring so I lit out for La Tertulia for a toasty, a banana shake, and another spliif.

This place is rapidly becoming my favorite....real rapidly.

The Westerkerk in my neighborhood was hosting an organ recital at 13:00, so I soaked THAT in.

Next I headed back to the apartment for a beer, some smoked mackerel and a bit of cheese. Then it was off to the South Church to climb THAT tower. (Basjoe's building nearby has a bit of construction happening so their canal view isn't the best at the moment...found that out beforehand.) I was too stoned to remember to make a few pics of the OUTSIDE of the South Church.

Now I need to just sit the f*ck down and chill my hyper American ass a bit. This ain't no race and I need to recalibrate my groove, so I head to The Dolphins for some chillin' atmosphere since the Dampkring and Twede Kamer were noisy and packed to the gills.

Great call. They have a White Dolphin that was just the ticket for a chill-out that lasted the better part of the later afternoon-early evening.

Then it was back to the Jordaan for dinner. Had to wait a bit at the corner cafe for my table at the Thai place.

Image

The table was right at the front, and I ordered the Menu so in between everything I could pop outside on the street for a quick toke or two.

Then it was back to the apartment. The favorite with Barney's staff at the moment is an Indica strain named Dr. Grinspoon and lemme tell you, it's a wonderful cap to a wonderful day. Thanks to Dr. Grinspoon I will sleep will tonight, for tomorrow I do it all over again.
