Hello, thanks for having me - long time listener first time caller.
3rd trip to Dam coming up tomorrow and as I was checking on here and agreeing with (and laughing at) so many posts i thought it was high time (pun intended) to get on board.
Any last minute recommendations? Bud and shop - i'm thinking i've never been to 3 of the most talked about c/s; Amnesia, Grey Area & 420. My hotel is near Katsu too so i'm sure i'll check that out. In bud terms i'm looking for the best ECSD/NYSD & Blueberry! I'm also looking for potential club nights sat & sun and at a long shot does anyone know any coffee shops that might show pre-season football friendlies?!
Haha, so many questions, sorry! Nice to make your collective acquaintances.

Howdy illumakid!
I've always considered Amnesia to be a subsidiary of the Barney's corporation, tho' the menus DO differ. Pricey as well, but it's a plush shop with a nice terras.
420 Cafe de Kuil is an old fave of mine but the menu is a bit staid and save for the recent addition of 420Kush, hasn't changed very much over the past 15 years. They DO have blueberry for €8/g so you might want to try that. Back in the 90s, they were a good source for SSH. If you don't mind yer ass getting numb, grab the window seat. Buy a gram of the BB to vape and the budtender will bring the volcano bags over to you.
Katsu has long been my fave shop for its unpretentiousness and great menu. Crystal Clear (ice-o-lator hash) is a solid choice tho' it's gone up 100% in price. I'll be trying their OG#18 in a few weeks.

My bud and I'll be heading to the Klinch dance party Saturday night at the Melkweg for €9 p.p. to check out the scene. Also, there's a weekly dub-step party at the Winston on Sunday nights that we'll be looking into.
Another strategy would be to try smoker-friendly venues such as Stones Cafe which is essentially a sports bar. Also, you can go to the Bottle, a bar that stays open very late, as well as the Satellite Sports Cafe. Both establishments are smoker-friendly and publish their TV schedule online, which is helpful rather than blundering into a random pub and risking disappointment. Between those 2 bars, I would personally opt for the Bottle as the Satellite Sports Cafe charges STEEP drink prices.

Hie thee hence to Grey Area. Their quality is renowned. Very hard to go wrong here though pricey.illumakid wrote:Any last minute recommendations? 'Fraid that I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to UK footie but you might want to cruise by The Green Place as they often show games there and have a fine menu to boot. Since yer staying near Katsu, I would try Coffeeshop de Graal as many ACD members have recently reported it as being a comfy venue to watch sports, but I can't guarantee they'll be showing "pre-season football friendlies."illumakid wrote:...and at a long shot does anyone know any coffee shops that might show pre-season football friendlies?!

hey hey!!! :D
Wow! Just got back from 'Dam and am blown away by the responses!
To tell the truth i got so lean out there i didn't seem to be able to find an internet cafe to check, lol... I'm sure there must be loads out there, but everything just magically blurred into one every day, usually (and coincidentally im sure) around about the first spliff. Also thanks to everyone who over various posts said that the best thing to do is get lost - I had the best time yet by not staying exclusively round the RLD and instead getting out down to the south.
I'll try and post in the right sections about different buds/cs etc, but suffice to say that Katsu = sheer brilliance, and Black Widow = sheer madness...
