just back from staying at the kooyk with my wife. have to admit found nothing wrong whatsoever. cheap comfy and free brekkie. its a bit dated but it had evrything we wanted. great base for everything. only 15 mins from central and also albert cuyp market. which has a cs worth a visit called the de grall (excuse the spelling) local cs but we were treated like v.i.ps. really enjoyed the kooyk. if all u want is somewhere to get a comfy cheap bed then this is the place to go.

Glad to read it was ok for you both.
It does seem ideal to just get your head down for the night, cheep and cheefull in an area I am used to.
Can you smoke in your room?

Hotel Abba is nearby, and fine. Check on the price, it might be better.

The reviews are hard to gauge. I mean, so many N. Americans have a different expectation of accommodations, and europe, is, well, europe.
