Hey,
I'm planning a trip to Christiania (Denmark). Has anybody of you been there in the last time?
What were your experiences like?

For those who don't know that place, it's a freetown in Kopenhagen an old hippie-community where hash and weed is sold openly (again) in a street called "pusherstreet". Kind of a little street-market.


it is an old!!! picture (prices are denish crowns 1€ = 7,45 kr) I like the X-treme corner...


I'm looking for high-grade import hash especially great maroccan like good caramellos but i also want to buy some black asian (no afghan).
How are the prices compared for example to Amsterdam? What's the quality like today? How is the offered variety? Anybody found stretched filler dope?! What discount should i expect buying larger amounts like 100g or even more?

Do you have any tricks or recommendations for me?

Dealers street (I think thats what it was called) is gone as far as I know, I believe you can still get some goodies from the various coffeeshops they have there.

We went a couple years ago. We had been changing currencies from dollars to Euros to Kronon and I got a little cornfused and bought too much. When it came time to go back to Amsterdam I took it with me. Boney said I am one of the few idiots that actually took hash TO Amsterdam. It should be on every old hippies bucket list.

Plus the graffiti was fantastic. No pix should be taken tho. If I remember right a yell of "Cheese" means the fuzz is coming.

i have talked to some denish locals in different forums who visited christiania even in the last days who said there are stands/tables again (since 2007 or so) in the "pusherstreet" and nice hash and weed available open for everybody as it was in earlier days.
When the police does raids time by time they remove their stash fast and move. Sometimes they find hash but often without its owner
They have whistles using them to warn each other when police comes close to the area of christiania... and there are only two entrances to this place as i read... IF they nevertheless should catch you, one as being a tourist has just to pay a penalty here and now which is not too huge.
The prices and quality (especially for import-hash) was told me is pretty the same (or even better) than in Amsterdam but there is no 5g restriction so you can buy large amounts and get nice discounts up to 50% which makes it much cheaper than Dam...
BUT the weed is in many cases NOT the same class than top notch dutch indoor weed! There should also be nice hazes but not every dealer sells it and you have to find the "good" weed. I was told: "stick to the hash" and that's what i was looking for anyway so it's cool.
I have also read the travel-reports of Nol...i like them... But you can't smoke anymore in that coffeeshop Moonfisher... just outdoor. Nowadys many smokers meet up at Cafe Nemoland and smoke in front of it.
I just wanted to hear what you guys who have plenty coffeeshop-experiences think about that place concerning quality, prices and ambiance before i make my own experiences there...
When i'm back i might do a little report and post some pictures of my stash and do some smoke-reviews... but unfortunately it is not possible to take pictures of the pusherstreet itself.... they of course don't permit it...

When I was buying I was kinda studdering around and finally the guy said look just put down how much you want to spend so I thru down 100 kronon. The dude bit a hunk of has off with his teeth (spit and all) then weighed it and said perfect. He was selling off a tv tray. We met some guys that said they come by train in once a month to buy their stash there in volume. Can't remember the prices sorry. But it was cheaper than Mokum a tad.

Viking might be the one that really knows Christiania.

Good advice, and you can buy as much as you can carry. Make your own deal, and yeh, it's usually better than most of the shit in Amsterdam.

Nemoland is just a snack bar where you can sit outside at picnic tables in a pea gravel 'courtyard' and blaze away.

I'd be interested in reading your trip report and how you viewed this social experiment...here's what one person posted on another forum...what's not to love?

i went in 2006, that seems like a year before op said it came back so to speak. When i was there though i was able to buy hash(wasn't very nice) off the street in cristania but it was nothing like in that pic. alot of headshop stands but the hash buying was covert. everyone was taking big chillum hits though. but if your in town and need smoke that seems like the place to go.

BS you`ve obviously never been there
police are everywhere and they`re not very nice to foreigners
and you would almost certainly be smashed to run around with that amount of cash
and if it really was better than hash in the DAM...do you really think people would travel over 700 km. (440 mil)

Well i have never been there but i asked many locals in different forums who told me that police sometimes comes even twice or three times a day at the moment but when they leave the hash is back again on its tables for sale within a few minutes...
They have mostly given up the attempt of being able to stop the trade there... they just show presence. Very few bigger raids anymore.

Maybe they are not very nice to foreigners but i have no sign on my forehead telling "hey i'm not danish"... and it is supposed to be the second popular tourist attraction in Copenhagen behind the Tivoli Park visited even by families with children every day...

Many people from whole Scandinavia and northern Europe come there to buy their supply so i think it is not too special showing up with more than just a few pennies.
In my opinion it should not be that problem buying two plates and a hand full of buds, leaving and making my day in the hostel with a little glass-spoon-pipe...

And about the quality i'm really excited myself. So many people told me that it is the same or even better than Amsterdam especially concerning import-hash (NOT weed!) I have also heard that coffeeshops don't buy the first-quality-import because it's too expensive for them...they can earn much more money by selling iceolator. They double the price.

I don't think that most of the people who travel to the Dam do that only for the quality that is offered there. I think the point is the freedom of the city being able to smoke in cafes in public without getting in trouble for and of course the huge variety of coffeeshops for everybodys' taste and every strain being available that has ever been found on that planet. I think the quality of the buds is nearly untouched there.

But also people from California who have the same weed in their despensaries come to Amsterdam to feel that vibe and not for the outstanding quality...

And i'm looking for import-hash as i mentioned above, not for buds... and the locals told me:
"don't worry it is easy to score high-grade quality there!" /
"there is so much hash in Christiania that it is easy for every smoker to find the piece he is looking for" /
"buying larger amounts (50g+) makes it much cheaper than Dam" /
"I have never found something better in Dam than in Christiania" /
"You won't be dissapointed"

So i'll give it a try... and i'm not too scared of getting smashed because i won't walk in there with a transparent briefcase full of cash... i'm aiming at a fast transaction and then i leave and come back the next day with a little piece to have some fun...

And by the way 11 years ago when i was 18 and the first time alone in the Dam (well i was pretty fresh and naive) i found myself in a little side-road with a gun barrel between my eyes while i was trying to buy some coke... that experience gave me kind of a sense for critical situations.

what i would say was that much has changed in the last 2-3 years...because of gang war, police are much more hysterical
