joking aside, i just noticed something you said.... 16 or 17 years old = statutory rape??? is the age of sexual consent 18 in the states?.... i'll be very suprised if it is.... as its 16 over here.

yea im not a tough guy(i avoid fiths but im not afraid of them either gotten into a fair mt of them when i was a teenager) but these dudes are of no physical threat to me. im not gonna fight though. they are wanna be tough guys but from what iv seen as long as you approach them in a calm un aggro manor they seem to listen.

css: the ago of consent varies by state. in my state it is 16 but that goes only for those under 21. if one part of the party is over 21 its statutory rape as far as i know.

You kinda know my stance on this already dude. My 2 cents on what to do about it, you can do one of two things.

A) Leave it well alone, not worth getting into hassle over something out of the young teens (the boys who live there not the girls) control. As you said, if you irk them could open up a whole can of worms that you don't need. Beef on your doorstep is not good, especially with hot headed teens, you still gotta live there dude and you don't wanna be the victim of randoms acts of vandalism you can never proove.

Or

B) Wait until their mother is back from out of town and speak to her directly about the excessive partying and explain your concerns as their guests have been coming over to your property uninvited.

Hopefully she will nip it in the bud from her side without you having to get involved speaking to the teens. For all you know the parents are probably none the wiser as to the goings on when away. In a worst case scenario this could backfire, leading the teens to bear a grudge for you snitching on them and potentially making your life harder in the longrun as they may intentionally start to annoy you. Coupled with the fact they know you consume narcotics on your property, so they kinda have something on you anyway should things g any further down the line

My advice dude, just leave it for now and put it down to a one time bad experience/buzz killer. Should it happen again, re-evaluate the situation and take action.

I think the age of consent in the US is down to each individual state.

I have had some bad experiences confronting neighbors about problems even in a nonconfrontational way. Get a beware of dog sign and post it towards their yard. They should get the hint. If not they're stupid.

Good call Cat   .....but cantona7 you did the right thing that night. I can see being upset about the new fence, but at least you didn't make a big scene with your drunk neigbors. Let it go this time, but if it happens again, say something to them. Maybe next time they'll do something juvenile with another neighbor and they won't be so nice like you....they'll just call the cops instead.

i also applaud/appreciate/understand your attitude towards letin these guys have fun. we were all there, we all understand what its like to be 16, and theres no point turning into that dickhead that tried to spoil your fun (as you saw it then).

if it becomes a regular thing then you are well within your rights to go next door and have a word, but if ifts litterally once or twice, then just remember we all did it, and smile and feel happy that we're not 16 any more.

christ im guilty of a fair bit of 'garden hopping' myself ha ha

the fact that they could smell what you were doing from their side of the fence is a different concern though... in a way you cant blame them for following the scent... just only drunk kids are cheeky enough to pop their heads over and say 'pleeeease'
What CSS said, i think its about right.

I'm in total agreement and very well put, Drenbt.
