My feet were getting tiered by now, and it was getting to around 6pm, I
started mulling over whether to eat here or get back to Den Haag. Decided on
the latter, as at least my feet would get a rest on the train, and began
threading my way toward the station. Again, I got semi lost in the maze of
streets, but chanced through the street with the Franz Hals museum.

It took me around 40 minutes to get back to the station, at one point I was
wandering through a pleasant little square when a woman sprung up at a window
and started beckoning me. She was wearing a rather tight dress, with her bra
sticking over the top, and I realised after a second that this was a red light
area (I hadn't thought about one even existing outside A'dam, so was a bit
surprised). I politely declined as I guess she may have been a little upset
that all I might want was a decent coffee, and maybe a neck massage.

Staggering on, I eventually found myself back on the main drag to the
station, and caught a train back.

So that was Haarlem, I think I need to go back there, and visit a few more
CS and see the place properly. I definitely liked the atmosphere of the place,
but I think more than a single day is needed to do it properly.

Grabbed a burger and fries on the way back to the hotel. Tomorrow was my last
day, so I needed to get sorted for the journey. I smoked a few j's out in the
garden again, tried out the WW Power Plant - this was plumper and more
crystally than the Blue and White stuff, but the taste was softer, sweetish
and only faintly aniseed. I wondered whether it was different genetics or just
growing method, but the high certainly didn't have the sparkle of the other
stuff.

Also tried out the Temple Balls - this is very soft and sticky, it came a flat
coin sized disc of material, but I could roll it without warming into a
rodent dropping. Again, it had that burned taste, but was quite strong.

I think on the whole I was disappointed with WW, the grass was good but their
hash was not so nice - OK, maybe I guessed the wrong things to buy, but the
atmosphere in the two CS I visited wasn't great either. I think they are
missing a trick at Sensi by not serving proper drinks etc, as I'm sure this
would encourage peeps to stay longer.

So that's enough for today, next instalment will cover my last day
in Den Haag.

well i am enjoying this story a lot and looking forward to the last day ... so have a relax at the keyboard and take your time in remembering what you did ... you are getting to places that don't get mentioned often and you have a fresh point-of-view which is a treat to read about

thanks for all the effort in putting together your story ... it's a fun read

ps if you do go back to haarlem, i think you might enjoy the Teylers Museum

dutch: http://www.teylersmuseum.eu/

english: http://www.teylersmuseum.eu/index.php?item=1&lang=en

wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teylers_Museum

the museum is the oldest in the netherlands, it has both art and science exhibits and since the exhibits are in their original layout, the museum itself is an exhibit

... and one of my favourite little items in the museum is the actual tip of mount blanc ... during an early scientific expedition to the top of the mountain the very tip of the mountain was chipped off by somebody and taken back down to be "examined" more closely ... and that same tip of rock is in a display case in the museum !!!

Did you get to the panorama mestang(sp) in the Hague, was the interactive virtual game still available at the Esher, and the bells stop in Delft in the evening for the night. We stayed in delft at a hotel/bakery, yes breakfast was great. so is your report, hope you get some more memory back, we need more report.
Missed the panorama thing, but the interactive stuff was still there at the Escher.
It was being hogged by japanese teenagers :(. I did like the building itself, and the chandeliers that were of funky shapes. Tried to get photos of these, but none came out too good.

Thanks, but venture out there - both Haarlem and Den Haag are less than an hour from the Dam, and totally different places.

Thanks so much this has been great reading, I'm planning on doing more travelling in 2011. I was in Delft earlier this year and really enjoyed your description, pretty spot on. The cs incident also gave me a good laugh, it read a little like Bill Bryson to me, I think you would make a great travel writer. The pictures are awesome as well, fab quality. I thought I would share my Delft canal photo with you, also very clean in Feb this year! :)

I will look forward to reading the final chapter soon!

Your Experience reminds me of a time I went to coffeeshop sensie smile in Rotterdam. I got the sweats, the oh fuck this is way too strong shit. the general fear syndrome. I had to use their toilet which had no lock on the door. so I held it shut with one foot and balance my arse like a chicken on a roost. All the while thinking someone gonna coming in soon, cos I've been ages. So now I take it easy for the first 3-4 days.
Next trip 1st August 2015. 2 weeks camping/putting my feet up.

:) as it turned out in later 'controlled' experiments, the Thai was pretty pokey gear, and nice tasting too. So quite a good deal at 4E/g. Shame I had to have the out of body experience before I figured it out though.

Day 3 - final day

OK, so I did test out the WWSat White Widow the previous night, nice tasting
and quite moreish, and very strong, but monged out kind of stone.

Slept like a rock, and awoke at 10:40, needing to check out at 11am!

Mad rush around to gather up my bits, check vitals in place (pp, ticket), and
make sure luggage doesn't contain any lurking baggies that might suddenly jump
out when a HMRC official strolls by. Roll a coule of js - one PP (B+W?) and
one polm(??) - losing track a bit now.

Check out at 10:59, wander out to the plaats, for a sit down, ciggy and to
formulate a plan for the day. My transport out doesn't leave until the late
evening, so I've got until around 6pm before I need to make a move.

Image

'Turned out nice...'

i) First thing is to dump the heavier of my bags down at Centraal Station.
ii) Wander back through the Malieveld (park near station).
iii) Then head up to the Buitenhof and town centre for a bit of brunch, and a look around.
iv) detour to Koffee en Dromen
v) Afternoon (what's left of it) at the beach in Kijkduin
vi) pick up bags
vii) go

That'll do :)
(Hope it doesn;t rain)
