I'm sure some of the lads who are now working for your place have told you about it. Despite the shit job I found the quality of life in Holland in general to be much better than in the UK, not only because of the constant supply of weed, and I long to go back to work over there but now I have a secure job over here it's been put off for now :( oh well only a couple of weeks then I have at 5 days in paradise at least :)
Yes I did see you mentioned Flex before, and we have some guys who used to work there with us. They say the both are as bad as each other, only we get paid better money now so can't complain. Just the organisation of hours is quite unreal. I did recently get my forklift license though, so at least i can have some fun doing doughnuts in the ware house :D

Smoking updates (minus pics for now):

The High Times special is no longer blue cheese, but it is very similar to the powerplant my housemate bought from Rookies last week. It's a nice tasting bud, slightly lemony taste...but not in the same league as the previous High Times special.

Also got some Grapefruit from Anyday in Amsterdam. It was a bit twiggy and bitty, although this shop are very good i find and always insist on showing me the weed before they start to weigh anything. But i wanted to try something different so i tried 2g. Taste very similar to Diesel i thought, but had a more of a hazey high, and just generally stronger than most Diesels i have tried. Unfortunately the lack of bud and pain fiddling around with twigs wouldn't have me getting anymore just yet....despite it being a top smoke.

So apart from the hours situation with work how are you feeling about 'living the dream' - is it as good as you hoped and do you miss good old blighty yet?

It's going great so far thanks. I see this time as a transition period so to speak really before I am truly living the dream. So this job and house are both temporary until I find something more permanent. But i am still loving the fact and appreciate the chance of living in Holland for sure.

Can't say I am missing England at all to be honest...just my friends, cats and parents, which I could say no matter where I lived.

On another note....I happened to have today off work so went out to Amsterdam for the night (got home at 9am  ) but was lucky enough to find a metal kif catching grinder on the 'I Amsterdam' sign in the Leidseplein! It was about 2am and no one was hanging around the sign other than me and my friend deciding where to go...when i saw and obviously pocketed this beauty :D

Been wanting to buy one for a while. Only this came with an added bonus of some kif at the bottom :D

Smoke wise, i bought some Alaskan Ice (€12) from Greenhouse last night which i don't have a picture of but is a strong heavy smoke with a very kush like taste. I also picked up some Mexican Haze for my housemate too (€10 i think) which had a piney hazey smell...and it got him stoned nicely. The guy serving in Greenhouse was really cool I had to say, didn't stop in though but I would if I had time one day.

I also had some Amazing Haze (€10) from Homegrown Fantasy, which I had a few weeks ago...but this time it is a lot nicer...smells very similar to the Amnesia from Anyday so i wouldn't be surprised if it was something like that. I went in to buy the Chocolope but as i wasn't on the menu, asked for the best haze and wasn't disappointed.

Hi Valo.

As a builder im used to lifting all the time.

If you like i can come over and show you some manual handling techniques

Toolbox talk for manual handling:-

Establish the weight before starting to lift.
Can the load be moved via other means eg forklift, pallet truck.
Make sure the route you take is clear with good lighting.
Wear safety boots to protect from falling loads.
Wear gloves to protect against cuts and punture wounds.
Know your capabilites, only tackle jobs you can handle.

TECHNIQUES

1.Stand close to the load, Feet hip-width apart, one foot slighty forward pointing in the direction your going.
2.Bend your knees and keep your back straight.
3.Get a secure grip on the load.
4.Breath in before lifting as this helps to support the spine.
5.Use a good lifting technique, keep your back straight and lift with your legs.
6.Keep the load close to your body.
7.Don't carry a load that obscures your vision.
8.Lift slowly and smoothly
9.Avoid jerky movements.
10.Avoid twisting your body when lifting or carrying a load.
11.When lifting to a height from the floor, do it in two stages.
12.When two or more people lift a load, one person must give directions to co-ordinate the lift.

There you go guys this is my tool box talk i give to people on site.

Hope this might of helped.

Thanks for the tips Dan haha. Health and Safety seems virtually non existent in the warehouse I work in, and the fact that I have only recently done the dangerous goods course after nearly 4 months here, kind of sums up the attitude of the work place :)

Got a couple of new pics. I been going to Empire in Haarlem lately as I wanted to try a new place and my housemate likes it there. I do really like the shop now, they have a pool table and pinball machine which is always good fun. Only a small shop though, but quite a cosy feel. Friendly staff, all seem to be hot girls so far, and good priced weed too.

Crystal White 1.8g €12 - has a nice fruity/citrus smell to it which is stronger when ground up. Fluffs up nice in the grinder too like. I like the strain as it seems like a nicer tasting white widow.

Lavender Haze 1g €12 - i only bought this as they were out of the Chocolope, which was the same price...the others being Blue Buddah and Amnesia. Doesn't have a very strong smell to be honest, and the taste is definately more hazey than lavender. A nice high buzz to it, but i'm not really a fan of the taste.

Image Image

Ketama Gold (from High Times) 2g €13 - a nice clean Moroccan hash, not soft enough to bend, but you can still compress it in your fingers. I haven't actually tried this one it's own...but mixed with some weed makes a much stronger smoke! I prefer black hashes, but this is a nice one for Moroccan lovers.

It's like the smoking ban....it is there in theory!

One thing made me laugh the other day, a sign was put up in the warehouse saying no access beyond this point without a high-vis top......and the next day, it had been ripped down and never to be seen again
