My mate has a grow on the go and the leaves are clawing ? i have said to give it a flush but beyond that ? could it be heat , over watering ?

'The claw' rings a bell. I think it is a nute problem,
maybe too much N. Though this in turn my be due to pH
problems. Defo not heat.

Sadly, the best reference (Overgrow faq) is long gone
(like my memory). Maybe USBL will know for sure.

I've had exactly the same problem and I thought it was due to heat, since where I live it's freaking hot!!
I never thought it like a PH problem as I've always used distilled water...

I thought heat problems were when the leaves curled up!

When they are curling down I believe it is over watering.

Plants should be feed well but not very often i.e give them a soaking every 4 days.

Soil should be bone dry before re-watering.

total flush with ph water (6),then 1/2 nutes for a week...ph is way off...hate to say the damage is done...gonna set ya back a week or so..it will affect the harvest..leaf curl can go either way...they could dry up and fall off if its toxic..so...flush then half...good luck

bone dry is pushing it...not wise...a lot can go wrong in those bone dry hours...

I'd guess over-watering myself.

Bone dry maybe is too far but you want really dry soil and the soil coming in from the side of the pot is a good sign as well.

At least this is what my reading has suggested to me.

Really think I should maybe flush now and then but if it's not broke don't fix never had any problems at all so far maybe im lucky.

Note: Ofcourse I flush last two weeks but I mean throughout the grow.

I only feed my plants once a week and I give them plain ph'd water for any other times, I try to flush for 2-3 weeks at the end as well, this allows for the buds to be the best flavour they can be.

i go 6 on 1 off on the nutes.....hydro hand water...its a bit diff then soil and i recon some of my advise is geared toward hydro apps..im sorry if i went wrong..havent seen dirt in 10 years or so ..if nutes are already in the soil that makes a world of diff in the watering ph and alot of other problems that im not familier with but loookin at that poor plant im gonna say hes gonna loose alot of shade leaves in the next couple weeks...use this opertunity to open up space for the light to penetrate to the lower branches to bulk up yer lower buds..never give up..remember,shes a weed and weeds hate dying

Thanks alot for the advice peeps i think as a newbie gerdener he is over loving it !! lol So its been flushed (may not help if its an over watering problem ?) and will see how it gets on !

They look well, I have 4 af's in my veg cupboard atm (smaller than yours hence no pics) that I made myself - White Dwarf(F) X Bubbledust (AF M I found) I have no idea if they'll auto-flower or not, just thought I'd crack them to see whats what.

Overwatering - for those doing soil, this only serves to weaken the root system by depriving the roots of proper gas exchange. the roots are not getting enough oxygen which creates an anerobic condition inducing root rot and root decline with the end result showing up as leaf stress(curling leafs), stunted growth, and in severe cases, death.

Overwatering creates a perfect environment for damp-off disease, at, or below the soil line.
