Quandaries

Post by wonkybookcase »

Hello all, it's good news - bad news time.

Good news: I am making my first visit to Amsterdam 1st and 3rd/4th October and could not be more excited, been checking out the locations and friends have been before so have been inundated with recommendations, I'm literally counting down every day, how sad is that?

Bad news: I'm playing in a baseball tourney on the Saturday (unless I go AWOL, very, very tempting) so I will be with 12 other guys who break down as follows; 7 people are saying they're not even gonna smoke, they're just going to drink. I mean, hell, you can do that almost anywhere apart from Saudi! 4 others are going to 'try it':- which means they'll buy 1 pre-rolled and then...start drinking. And finally one other confirmed stoner who will be my rock(stone?) of sanity in a weed wonderland.

So my goals for the trip are;
a) Get every one of these feckers to try something, anything. Even if that mean putting a joint in their mouth while they're sleeping.

Or, when I realise that they're mostly bigger than me

b) Lose them in some godawful bar in the RLD and go exploring with my trusty sidekick.

I'll let you know which option wins...it'll be fun either way

:D

You might also want to remind them of what they're doing to their bodies and brains by drinking alcohol.

Just sayin'.

if there not wanting a smoke as you said what are they doing going to dam. had friends that just drink or 1 joint the whole trip.. and i must say it will ruin your trip especially your first trip. the best solution is the tried and tested LOOK AT THAT!! and RUN worked for me on untold trips. good luck..

Just because you're in a baseball team doesn't mean you have to spend the whol weekend together.
If it were me, I'd get them all in the queue fro the van Gogh museum, halfway through the serpentine scream 'Tortoisehead' and snick off with your stoner mate to 'look for a somewhere with a WC'.

Jobs a good 'un.

If you're in Amsterdam for the first time, I say, choose the "Weed Wonderland" with the "Stoner of Sanity", no contest. Any ill feelings with the Teammates can be smoothed over by there drunkeness and your honesty! It's Amsterdam dude, have fun!

well, there are weed friendly bars too, ie. 'the bulldog'

this place will satisfy any boozy types, and will aslo let you take in and smoke your own weed. they do have their own coffeeshops, but they are not recommended. go somewhere else, get some good gear and meet them there... then you can all hang out together.... a crowd is always fun

lol, thanks for the responses. i really just wanted to rant as I just found out the majorities plan and really couldn't work it out.

Kadysdad I might take you up on that, however there's the added complication that my sense of direction is atrocious so no phone numbers gonna help me. That + weed and I there's not telling where I'll end up...

You have been posted on the October Whos In Town page.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.
Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Or post one of your own. All I need is a date, time, and coffeeshop to post it.

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/profi ... le&u=50015

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

First timers get my S G Collins recommendation
I think a read of this will maximize your efficiency once you get there.

How not to get hit by a bike and other stuff they forgot to tell you about Amsterdam.

Enjoy
