Can you do anything to stop reaching ?

Ok my mate has got a DNA Sour Cream on the go at the moment , its just a seedling and he basically veggies on a windowsill . The plant is stretching to try find the light (leggy?) Is there anything you can do to limit it ? other than using the right bulb

He only has a red spectrum cfl ! i suppose he could jus 12/12 fi seed ?

Yeah it'll just stretch for the light, the only answer is get some light closer to the plant, I dont see why you cant use a red sprectrum bulb for vegging (I have a blue in my flowering side and it seems to be doing ok) or like you said just 12/12 the seedling.

they say with cfls to use blue spectrum to veg red to flower ? i suppose it will grow a bit different but it will grow ? the only thing is he uses one area to flower so it would only get 12 red so thinkin 12/12

Nothing really you can do about a plant stretching when using the Sun as the light source. When using artificial light, a simple adjustment is all that is required. In order to stop or slow down stretching, the light source must be placed closer to the plant(s). The caveats are temperatures and burning of the plant. Monitor both very carefully - temps shouldn't exceed 29C/85F, and watch for signs of burning.

As for indoor lights, blue/white for veg and red/yellow for flowering. Not sure about using them the other way around, as some have stated. One of many sources - http://weedfarmer.com/cannabis/indoorv1_guide.php

Actually if a window gets full sun exposure for the day ,, it would be a great source of light for growing .. but unfortunately many things happen in these spots that interfere with the whole effect of the sun ,, curtains?? other obstacles in the way ?? .. get a little flourescent and keep it close to the plant then it wont stretch ,, repot them and sink the stem ...
