Smoking spliffs in clubs?

Post by Ash333 »

Theoretically, as long as they are pure it is legal I thought.

The reason I ask is this:

Last Friday night (27th) I was in a club in the RLD. It was my first time in Amsterdam since the smoking ban came into force. I noticed ashtrays and people smoking cigarettes.

I then noticed the sound engineer was smoking a joint, and asked if it was ok for me to have one.
"Of course man, don't you know you're in Amsterdam" was his response.

I really liked this. It felt like the best of Londons clubs mixed with the best of the squat parties... nothing like raving it up in the middle of the dancefloor with some mates chuffing on a cone.

So where else is good for this?

Most I've been in have a smoking room where you can skin up. I've also seen and smoked spliffs on the dancefloor in a number of places...
Sometimes i've been asked by the doormen to put it out though

This was in The Winston Kingdom on Warmorsstraat. The music was pretty good, from a heap of live bands.
I've gotta warn you though, it is very different on different nights.
I popped in a few weeks after writing this report initially and was sorely disappointed by the god-awful dj. He was playing with CD's, and still couldnt put a single mix together properly. He just switched between tracks, often with silences and huge tempo changes. I'd check before going that a good night is on.

What sort of hours and prices (entry and drinks) does that club have by the way?. Would love to goto a club and have a joint next april. Not done that since an 18th birthday many years ago when we smoked a few in a club in Bromborough and I then got kicked out for skinning up more in the toilets!.
