re-using soil

wonder is someone can help

I recently scrapped a cuttings grow, starting fresh with seed

I have 100 litres of canna soil (still all damp) in bin bags, they have had a nute mix of 4ml canna start and 2ml canna vega per litre of tap water in them....

I am now in the proccess of germinating bb blue cheese seeds in propergater... I will then put jiffy pellets in small pots, probably in around 5 days time.

Can I reuse this soil ? And can I store the rest of it until Im ready for my 11 litre pots?

I dont drive and its a completely stealth/ tell no mates grow... 2 bags of soil would only cost £25, but if I ordered online Id have to pay the same in delivery... so desperately trying to avoid that as ive cleaned myself out setting up!

Any comments?

Thanks

So the soil has only been given a low dose of feed? I would use the soil just wait till the seedlings are big enough to handle the feed. I'd buy a small amount of "new" soil just to start 'em off and then use your canna soil when they need repotting.

yep, across 10 pots the plants have had roughly 15 litres of water.... 6ml of nute in each....

I will try and get some soil, any brand reccomendations for the first pot?

Also, how long would you reccomend keeping them in the propergater for?
At the moment its in the boiler room with light on, 24 degrees and 85% humidity.

Thanks a lot.

I have no experience with soil growing (have only done hydro grows before) so I don't know any soil brands but I would just look for a pack that says its good for seedlings/cuttings. Maybe Boner can offer you more help here.

As for when to remove from propergater well I'd do it when they are up and have leaves

thanks, your a lifesaver. Boner seems to have gone missing - maybe all my questions finally got the better of him lol

I was planning to transfer into my 600w tent once I see true leaves, but have the light right at the top, about four foot above the plants.

I do have other things to do. ;)

You can flush the soil with ph adjusted water, I'll be honest I dont re-use soil as I only buy cheap stuff from Homebase (Westons Organic vegetable soil - I think...) but I've been having a phospurus (sp?) deficency with some strains recently so I'm going back to better soil or I might just make the move to canna coir.
