September 2nd - 7th

Post by AmDamMan »

Well those 5 nights really flew by and I'm gutted to be back in the UK facing work tomorrow :(

I'm not gonna give a minute by minute account because, to be honest, I can't remember! Instead I'll give a shop/strain report on where I visited.

I also spent time in Haarlem, Beverwijk and Wijk ann Zee and Alkmaar.

Dampkring 2
Always my first stop, the staff are normally very friendly however while I sat here on my first day the lady working turfed out 2 groups of people for not buying drinks even though they had bought weed. One was a group of young spanish who didn't speak good english or dutch and didn't seem to understand they couldn't pay on card so got turfed out along with 2 american girls who didn't want a drink. I had brought a drink and the staff were pleasant enough to me, but obviously the people who got the boot are gonna leave thinking it's a shit coffeeshop.

Cheese Skunk
Still good value at 8€/g but it lacked the taste and power of the stuff I had last time which was only €7/g. Cheese x PP.

G13 x Amnesiaa
At the top end of the menu at €13/g but very nice taste and smell and a nice high, although I think on this occasion Barneys G13 Haze was even smellier and tastier.

Super Silver Haze
I think this was €12/g and smelt and tasted lovely. It gives a long lasting high but with a twisted kinda stone as well. Nice lookin buds.

Jungle Haze
This was just €7.50/g, which is very low for a haze so I wasn't expecting too much but it had a lovey hazy smell and quite a strong high, very good bang for your buck.

Grey Area
Always one of my favourite shops due to the honest and friendly budtenders and normally high quality smoke.
I think John may have been out of town because Adam seemed to be running things single handedly and the shop was closed on the Sunday. When I went in on the monday, Adam was clearly not in the best of moods although he was trying to do his best to seem amiable to the long line of customers. When I got to the front a guy he knew came in and asked if he had had a nice day off, to which he answered "It was the WORST fuckin day of my life" and went off on a bit of a mad one. We all have bad days so I though nothing of it, waited patiently and scored my bud. When I went back the next day, after buying my weed Adam asked what drink I'd like as he knew I'd been in the day before, witnessed his little outburst, and still came back and he sorted a drink on the house as an apology. Him and John are easily some of the best budtenders in Dam.

Martian Mean Green
I was eager to get this after longing for it since the mother died out. I forgot to ask how come it was back. €12.50/g. This was not such a good smoke and was bit harsh on the lungs. It didn't have the real strong unique smell and taste as the first batch all those years ago. However, purchased on the Thursday and noticed on the Friday that it was off the menu, so I was likely to have got the end off a batch. It was back on the menu on the Monday and a couple of english lads seemed really happy with it, commenting on the smell which my gram was lacking, so it could have just been bad timing on my part.

Silver Bubble
Not cheap at €13.50 a g but is consistently one of the best looking, smelling and tasting smokes out there. Dripping with crystals and giving a long happy high with a nice stony hint.

LA Confidential
Adam reccomended this to me as one of the best batches seen in a while. It was Verry nice, smelly and a potent stone, nice for the evenings. I think it was about 12 a g.

Grey Berry
One of the best budget smokes out there at €8.50 a gram. Big fat buds, and you can get 5g for €40 which along with the indica/sativa mix makes it a good everyday smoke.

KO Kush
I think €12 a g, I only bought half a gram on the last morning. Not overly strong buy still nice and tasty, stony but still able to do things if you need to... (like get to the airport lol)

That's all I can write for now, the though of all those lovely weeds and friendly people and I'm here without even the next trip planned.... leaves me feeling empty.
I think I will be moving back over next year back with the agency I worked for before or similar and then looking to get some euros saved and branch out.
