apartmant which allows 2 cats

Post by Bob2 »

sorting out 420 trip next year, got the old couple coming its much easier and cheaper for me by car and get to go through breda. BUT the couple just spent 800 pounds on 2 very cute kittens and they will only come if i can find an apartment which allows pets. not really seen any so have any of you guys and girls done this or know of any places that allow it

Hi stu

When I booked with Amsterdamstay.com I am positive that pets were allowed in some apartments plus they are smoker friendly ;)

I found this on Expedia...38 hotels in A'Dam that allow pets. Hope it helps coz I sure would like to smoke a few with you next April.

Probably not as easy as that mate as finding accomodation that allows pets is not all you\the old couple need to do.

There is also the quarantene issue to think about. Whilst it would be quite easy to take pets out of the country, bringing them back is a pain if they dont do everything 100% to the letter first.

They will have to check that they can even get a pet passport to travel to Holland that will accept the cats back without the 6 month quarantene rule being enforced. Also, as going by car they would assumingly have to check both France & Belgum are countries that are part of the pet passport scheme of applicable countries that would not auto enforce the 6 month quarantene rule.

I might have got all this wrong and every european country is ok for the pet passport. And dont mean to make it look like I'm pissing on your and there plans etc. But they really do need to make sure of everything first before looking for the accomodation.

As stated above, bringing pets INTO England can be a complete circus routine.
My Aunt had to board her cats in a kennel for an entire freekin year at the french-england border as they did not have a pet passport.

Yes, tell them its a bad idea for many reasons:

Most cats hate to travel in cars.

They could easily get out and get lost in Amsterdam.

UK pet quarantine is legendary....they could lose the cats for 6 months on the way back.

How ancient are these poor old things???.....

Sounds like it might not be such a good idea to travel with pets but, if they do decide to do so, tell them to check this out:-

Good luck.
