We all know that the cannabis laws in the US are very draconian but he not only knew he was doing wrong but openly bragged about it, imo he got off lightly and the rumours are saying he'll serve most the time in a canadian jail anyway.

The Canadian government and police said nothing about the seed business, and permitted him to operate his business freely and without any reservations.

The bottom of it for me is that the Cdn gov't has shit on a citizen, by turning them over to another sovereign nation for breaking a law in that country, without ever having set foot there.

All the while being permitted to operate at home. He listed himself as 'marijuana seed seller' as occupation on his tax forms, and paid more than $500k in taxes in 8 years.

I ask the reader to think about that for a moment.

its a shame he had to get sentenced here in seattle..just glad this was in federal court so it doesn't reflect on my city. he did know what he was doing though. any of us prob would have gotten more. doesn't matter if some of the states are liberal about mj, its banned on a federal level so if you send them across the border they just kinda lump it all together. once again its a shame but damn. even met this guy personally, seemed nice enough.

I always assumed selling seeds was legal.
Or is it just illegal in the US?

in Canada seeds are technically unlawful (we don't have 'illegal' here), but it's rarely prosecuted.

the cops usually don't bother with MOM either, until they're making too much money (ie: more than the cop involved), or making too much noise (think Napster)

you dont get my point.
those people are not protesting because they think marc is in jail for nothing, but they want to say that putting someone into jail for selling seeds of a plant is bullshit.
