There are not many good shops near there that I know of. But you are near the beginning on the number 1 tram which will take you to Leidseplein and the center in 10-15 minutes.

How long are you staying and do you plan to return to Amsterdam again and again?
If so get the OV CHIP CARD. Its like a little credit card and it cots 7.50e for the card. Then you add money to it with a little machine, using a PIN card. You can also buy them for cash from the ticket office at the airport or at the train station.
Then you use this card to check in and out on the trams, there are no more paper tickets. And when the money runs out, you add more (again either with a machine or in person at the ticket office).
The only other option if you are here only a few days is an all day pass but I do not know anything about them.

THANK YOU Your responses to both were helpful. AND YES THE OV-chipkaart Anonymous I think is the best.

That just buys the card, you have to add money to it.

You can still just pay cash on the tram, you end up with alot of coins enjoying the CS life.
We prefer to walk or bike most places.

Yes, but paying cash tends to be more expensive....2 hours for 4 and change!

If a pin count, bring the card to buy money on it, you can use six days as we are in March and I take particular that is within 5 years: D As for cycling, I think maybe something is winter ice below that in other years, plus I can not pedal too much because I have serious health problems in one leg

Mobstar, if there is a question there, can you ask it differently, can't quite make it out
The card will for more than one year for sure. Just do not lose it.
