I'm off to the dam soon with a few mates but a couple of them have said its their last trip (I know one has a very good reason to not want to go back). Kind of ruined my plans for 420 though so was thinking about a solo trip myself. I'm sure there will be plenty of fellow stoner about at that time though.
Could be an interesting few days in the dam first time solo.
The first time I ever went to Amsterdam was alone, before I got into these sort of informative sites. In a way my first trip was a little frightening as I'd never been abroad by myself (was 26 then I think). But the excitment of being there and doing my own thing more than made up for lack of companions.
Sure, there were times when I did'nt want to stray to far from the hotel area. But that was only at night and down to having never been to Amsterdam before.
Then I had 4 trips with friends. Which while good all had there downsides in part due to slight conflicts of opinion of what we wanted to do.
My last trip was alone and whilst I did miss going with friends I really loved the fact that I could do what I wanted, go where I wanted and pretty much run to my own timetable. But I was also very confident at going out at night due to knowing the city pretty well by then. So sure, yes you will miss not having any friends there with you. But if you can adapt and accept that the benefits of doing what you want when you want will more than make up for that.
Plus there seems to be more members on here than ever that are always willing to meet up for a t&t.
HI king , thats shit about your m8, youll av the time of ur life. this is my 4th solo and i fucking love it. i am not super confident or a great talker but have plenty of conversations, laughs and most of all "chill time".
If your t@t is still on (8th Basjoe) i will c u there, Philly has offered to buy your B day dinner , i will 2nd that we could all go out for a bite
You will get a nice place to stay on that budget Enjoy man.
Hey dude going solo is the bomb , iv lost count the amount of times iv been solo , you do what you want when you want ! as others have said you get to speak to people you other wise might not have . Also for that kinda £££££ i would maybe see about getiting an apartment ? then you can sit have a smoke watch a DVD or listen to some tunes ? take it at your own pace !

Except for April when we flew over together and roomed together it was nice to fly over together again for your birthday. The excitement we both have after touching down, laughing and running for the shuttle is too fun.
That said, I love how we both do our thing and meet up when we feel like it. Glad you had such a wonderful birthday, my sweet friend as you deserve it. Going solo does rock, but having you there makes it even better. Love ya chick.

hey man thats sh*t about your mate letting you down and at the last minute by the sounds of it. But it's good that you've decided to go for it. As others have said i think the only time it would be weird would be sitting down eating at night. But the easy solution to that is to just go to the burger bar great burgers,great prices also. And you now have two offers for dinner on your b/day so burger bar for 2 nights and sit down with 2 other members for dinner the other. Your budget for a hotel is uncalled for. There's the old nickel that i know for a fact allows you to smoke in the room. And it's also only 2 mins walk from the train staion. It's right on the corner of warmeostratt it's a budget hotel so £600 will leave you at leat £400 to spend on weed so you'll have a blast. If renting an appartment check beforehand if your allowed to smoke. I think going all out for one of the more expensive hotels im sure none of them will allow you to smoke. You also have one or two down at leidseplein that allow you to smoke. Again budget hotels there's the de lanterne bit of a shithole but if all you want is somewhere to lay down the head at night it's ideal as it allows you to smoke. Also the kooyk that i thought was a great liitle hotel not allowed to smoke inside but you can ask for the garden room. That has it's own private door to the patio around the back handy for a last spliff at night and a great little cs around the corner called crush. I really would'nt worry about being on your own. Go to basjoes and your sure to meet other acd'ers also the nes is another favourite of members on here and you'll meet DC in there he'll keep you right. Be sure to take him out the cadbury fingers though lol. Have a blast mate just a pity you were out there this week. As im out there on the 1st november for 3 days. But as we've all said already you won't even notice that your on your own half the time. Think the only time it will sink in is when your sitting on your own but thats the best time to get to know others sitting on there own. So enjoy it mate and be sure to post your trip report. Ill be keeping an eye out for that getting posted up. For upto date advise before i go myself. The countdown has begun

i managed to cancel my booking at hotel ben and have now booked in to the NH Barbizon Palace http://www.nh-hotels.com/nh/en/hotels/t ... 1660000000 a hotel i have walked past numerous times and thought that looks like a nice place to stay, lets hope its not a letdown
