it is truly one of the most spectacular museums if only for the 1st (2nd floor)...you can get lost on that floor for hours...in 10 trips i've been 5 times...

I have been there 4 times and will probably go back in the spring. It is covered under the Museumkaart.

Not to be missed.
It really is a special place.
Not only for the Van Gough, though many of them really can transport you, but the other wing is also incredible and hosts many amazing exhibits.
Buy your ticet online and you can avoid the lines at opening and just walk right in.
Go first thing, the museum utilizes natural light, so its best viewed earlier than later.

for a different vibe, hit it on Friday nights. 7-10pm
They have DJ's, drinks, performances, and you can always check out the galleries too.

definitely go KD, it may inspire you!

I was never an arty-farty type but I went there in 2005. Truly amazing paintings!

It's all about gazing into the 3D like brush strokes for me.
/The prints in museum shop were surprisingly affordable by European standards.

My friends have all been and rave about it, they can't work out why I have not been

I do intend to go, but I usually end up getting way laid funnily enough

Yeah know the feeling lol, my wife and I went once but we are not art lovers and just didn't get it, though we do intend to return. We found the Anne Frank House to be more our taste. (we are both fascinated by WWII history. Morbid I know)

I went with my wife and kids and in all honesty I didn't really like his way of painting, I only went in because it was free on the iCard and wanted to see the sun flower, if I had to weigh up which one I preferred out of this museum and the rijks I would say the rijks and plan to go back in there on my next visit... Good old iCard

Anne Frank's house was a great place to go, I made the big mistake of going on a Saturday.
Oh and if you do read this hasanyoneseenmypipe, you may be interested to know there is an Anne Frank exhibition on in Lisburn at the mo...think it's in the library? Its on until the end of the month
Sorry again for yet another thread hijack

Interesting.
Did you go to the Rik's while its under construction?
Because that for us was the biggest waste of a morning ever.
I'll go back once it is reopened properly if they ever finnish it that is lol.
As is, yikes, just a money grab, barely anything on display, your just paying for the construction costs.
