Ok, here's what happened. I was working in Den Haag and had a killer hangover so bunked the day off work. I stayed in a hotel for the night and the next morning just went on my bike to find a good coffeeshop. I've no idea where it was, maybe south-west...anyway, the one I found had a thumb-print reader that you had to use before you were allowed in. I got some Bubblegum and was totally fucking wasted from it...anyone know which coffeeshop it was, or do other Haagse coffeeshops have this too? nb: thumb print readers, not Bubblegum...

I doubt the coffeeshop would be able to have access to criminal records etc...I'd imagine it's so if anyone gets stabbed or shot then the police would have the culprit's thumb prints...or maybe they have a list of known troublemakers that can be refused entry...
Interestingly, I was in another coffeeshop a few days earlier in Den Haag, and there was a man in there with a large bandage around his midriff, apparently he'd been stabbed the day before...the budtender also showed me a scar frighteningly close to his eye, he'd been stabbed too by a junk.

Interesting.
Maybe thats why at Cafe Creamers ( a C.S. ) the tender is in like a bank teller booth where you can not get at him.

The coffeeshop scene here in the Hague is very different from Amsterdam and lots of the coffeeshops seem to have a 'Kiosk' to buy from (almost always with a queue!)
I haven't come across the coffeeshop with the thumb reader (living in the Hague for just over 3 months) but I did hear talk about them, as a step towards members only coffeeshops and making sure you only buy 5g's a day.
The bud in the Hague is disappointing in my opinion. I have only found one coffeeshop I trust to have quality product and a good range and that is coffee and dreams (Koffie and Dromen). Thank goodness Amsterdam is only a 10 euro train ride away!

Each to their own, could be a placebo effect...I'll bet the smokers from The Hague don't travel to Dam for weed...
A lot of the better coffeeshops in DH have been closed down before your time...just north of HS there was a wooden coffeeshop built in the triangle...their K2 was the fucking best ever..and I worked just down the road from it in '98...

what a Summer that was!!!
