hey guys,

i moved to nl a couple of months ago and i cant, for the love of god, find good buds in utrecht, which is why i have to drive to amsterdam every now and then to restock my budbar.

in the past weeks i tried many different strains in amsterdam, ranging from 8€ buds from dampkring, to hunters 100% sativa and greenplaces various, expensive kushes.

i feel the buds around 8-10€/g were the best smokable usually
(examples: damprking: special skunk, jack herer, nycd, cheese skunk; greenplace: trainwreck)
,while i found many of the "highend" 12€+ weeds to be very disappointing more often than not.



now i am looking for recommendations, preferably from locals, for good buds and hashes, that are actually worth their price!!

i am a student and no tourist, so price does actually matter for me. :[


my last 10€+ stuff with a good price/effect ratio was ssh from hunters (12€g i think) and dampkrings malika hash (14€g).

try basjoe, not the biggest menu but always good

I honestly dont think you're looking too hard in Utrecht, off the top of my head the weed I used to get from Wietstock was on par with anything from Amsterdam, I dont get why people automatically assume that Amsterdam has the best weed/hash, it certainly has the most expensive but price doesn't always mean quality especially in Amsterdam.

if i remember correctly wietstock only had silver haze as the only strain on the menu a month or so ago. i will bike into the city in an hour and will check it out again, though.

maybe the culture boat has some nice hashes to offer besides their ubercrap outdoor weed.

They used to have a strain called Budsies (I think), amazing smoke for the price (around the €6 a gram mark I think).

Please bear in mind this was a few years back and things change especially in the the quality of coffeeshops/strains.

'some' coffeeshops may have tourist weed, and locals weed...you're going deep into Nederland there...

Hit up Bij and Boerjongens in Amsterdam for some quality and reasonable priced gear.
Its out of Centrum in an area that gets little tourist traffic.
I'd also hit up Empire Coffeeshop in Haarlem, even better deals and again not a tourist spot so they keep there locals returning for great deals and top shelf quality.

Yea, Budsies was some good herb. I havent been to Utrecht in a few months but Wietstok's sister shop, Andersom, also had Budsies and a more extensive menu than Wietstok. Last time I was there, Andersom also had some very nice White Widow.

andersom and wietstok both have only 3 strains right now (ssh, powerplant and white widow).

didnt buy anything, since i tried the ssh and pp roughly a good week ago, and they were both crap.

then i decided to buy some bio amnesia and the expensive 17€ hash at the culture boat. just like my previous purchases from there i have to dry the grass for at least 24h to make it nicely smokable (this really sucks). the hash is pretty nice though (very, very soft and iceolator looking for something that is coming from marocco).

also been to the freak coffeeshop and bought some shiva (which is kinda ok) and some chocolope (which is also wet and kinda sucks).

thank you all for the tips in amsterdam and haarlem. i'd probably need to take my bike with me to check out some of the shops.
am i correct, that it costs 6€ per way (!) to take your bike with you on a train?

i really dont try to sound negative on purpose, twocanucks.
i lived in germany before and had basically unlimited access to kickass amnesia haze (though pretty expensive), and various other buds,
that absolutely shit on almost everything i have found in amsterdam, let alone utrecht, so far.

i have only been here for 2 months and i already came across absolutely unsmokable weed 4+ times (1 time as reported in barneys and at least 3 times in utrecht (bordeaux rood 3x, freak 1x, etc. etc.)

in conclusion, i am rather disappointed with the coffeeshops, their quality, pricing and ambience (at least in utrecht they pretty much all are shitholes in some way).

it is what it is, but overall i would have expected better quality in the netherlands.

i usually try not to be too superficial, but judging from what you say, how you say it and the fact, that you are an Insane Clown Posse fan, i am not too sure if i would want such a meeting to happen.
dont take it personally. i dont know you, and obviously it is pretty much impossible to know somebody from a couple of posts on a public forum about weed.

edit: p.s. bonglord (i fell like i am talking to a small child here), have you not read, that i am not a tourist, and therefore not buying the most expensive stuff all the time? my circumstances differ quite a lot, from what seem to be your standards, try to keep this in mind.

i actaully know violent j...good call..but i dont stab people...he blazes here everytime he comes to baltimore,twizted too...and i get the fact you live there and funds are normal...go to katsu and look at the deal menu..its a ffordable and good...try balck widow..enjoy and if ya wanna get high in nov come see me

good call, heard some good stuff about katsus black widow. will check this out next.
