For me hands down Bud over Hash, I can appreciate hash greatly but its just not the same.... Plus bud is the plant completely unaltered, hash is man made, not that I have any problem with it its just another factor to consider. Also gotta love smoking big fat blunts and cones of da budz! As for Amnesia Gold... your making me hungry hungry, I have never sampled the gold but I have consistently tried the Amnesia Haze from Blues Brothers CS in the Centrum which doesn't get much attention, it is always fucking FABULOUS! It was my first smoke of my last Canny Cup 09' trip... I got off the plane, linked up with some Amsterdam noobies who were on the plane with me and brought them with me, Balou was waiting for me there, got up to the top of the stairs grabbed a gram of the Amnesia Haze and opened up my suitcase and pulled out my brand new 12 inch glass on glass straight bong. Sucked one full bowl through of that Amnesia and I felt like I was on Excstacy, I had a permanent grin on my face and I blessed the bud-tender with praising informing him that I was from Vermont where we have chronic weed and how this shit hit me harder then anything in the past 6 months! and that does say a lot because I regularly get my goodies from the West Coast and they are hard to beat ;). Anyway looking forward to sampling the Casey Jones, could potentially be a new flavor and smell to add to my ol' factory library! Cheers for the reviews Neo!

Amsterdam Bud Report 25/1/2011

Katsu – Black Widow
Dank hard tight buds that absolutely stick to your fingers. Massive high that leaves you feeling numb and warm. A treat to smoke and vaporize.

Club Media – Hindu Kush (9 e/g , 40 e /5g)
I was pleasantly surprised with this purchase. I picked up 5 grams and foolishly judging by the price I paid I thought that it would be quite weak. The buds are covered in crystals and are reasonably sticky. This is the smoothest nicest tasting smoke I have EVER had in Amsterdam until now. The high was good, not Black Widow powerful, but it is a relaxing night smoke nevertheless. With the recent money grabbing price hikes this is a nice alternative.

Bud Report 2/2/11

I suggest going to both coffeeshops in one go if you want to try the strains. Take tram no. 10 from Leidseplein (direction Van Hallstraat). At stop “Rosengracht” you will find Funkey Munkey (and 1e Hulp if you’re interested). At the end of the line (Van Hallstraat) you walk a bit to find Chapiteau.

Funkey Munkey – “Chocolope” aka Puprle Kush (11e/g)

In my newfound quest to find affordable yet still powerful strains I decided to head West and so here I am at Funkey Munkey. I go in and take a glance at the menu to see that Amnesia, Blueberry Cheese (also looked good!) and Chocolope available at 11 euros per gram. I normally I don’t like Chocolope as it is too mellow in my opinion and I wouldn’t have bothered to even look at it but, by some divine inspiration, I did. Immediately the strong distinctive smell of Purple Kush hit me and after also seeing the buds purple and totally glazed I was set. I can’t believe someone can mistake Purple Kush for Chocolope but as new kushes go for 13 and 14 euros per g in the center it is a bargain. The pics once again speak for themselves. Be sure to check for purple buds first just in case they have regular chocolope that day.

Chapiteau – Cheese (9e/g)

Another bargain. The buds are rock hard and full of crystals. I have to say that this is now my new favorite budget strain replacing Mellow Yellow’s 5g deal on S5 Haze. The high is strong and long lasting, quite surprising considering the price. In my opinion it is currently the best value-for-money example of cheese in Amsterdam.

THANKS NEO

Chapiteau Cheese is great!!!

I love reading about a bargain on this site, going there and it totally checks out.

I asked the bud tender "what strain is in good condition?" and he politely replied - "pretty much everything!"

But still I find this place tricky to find and a little far, so it's not a recommendation for the faint hearted 8)

Glad to hear you found it to your liking! One person's taste is not guaranteed to suit another.
