It's the stairs in the hotel where I'm staying at, how the fuck I'm going to manage them whilst wrecked I don't know

Oh deary me!!

I stopped at a place in Haarlem that had stairs like that only they didn't have a hand-rail - that was fun especially with a wife who has trouble walking on normal flat surfaces due to having zero balance.

Yea its like the place where i stay! you have to watch going down with the suitcase & especialy if you have wet feet,You could easily break something if you fall awkwardly .

Last place I was at in the 'dam had a rope hanging down the middle

If there's a pet peeve I have about the Netherlands, it's that they mislabel ladders, an instead call them 'stairs'

that could be challenging for me given my track history of staircases in the Dam, but at least there's a handrail more than what I had in that bloody bar in Sept

I remember staying in one of Bobs Youth hostel apartments (near abraxas 2) There was a couple of nights it felt like I was climbing ladders, weed comsumption did have something to do with it aswell but no hand rail meant I didnt take any chances.

That and the subsidence in the building meant when lying in bed you felt like your feet where higher than your head, had to move to the other end of the bed as I couldnt sleep like that.
