Amsterdam may extend 'stop and search' to West

Post by Marco »

Sorry this is only in Dutch

http://www.at5.nl/artikelen/50609/raad- ... leren-west

This is in response to increasing violence in the West. A jewelry dealer was murdered last week.

So be advised if you are bringing (you should not imho) a knife or are carrying anything else you do not want found.

The comments are interesting, many along the lines of "If you have nothing to hide, why worry about being searched."

"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."
Benjamin Franklin

Because that is one giant step towards nazi-ism.

Joe, I just don't want anyone of ACD to find themselves in trouble, for any reason. They could also find something else, so I wanted folks to be aware.

Ha, what tourist carries a weapon in DAM?

If you look like a victim, you will be treated as one. Simple. Then theres random acts on others, but thats just random.

Yeah I remember in 1990 when I was 12 we were going to England and we were stopped at the old checkpoint onn the road heading into Aldergrove and everyone in the car getting searched and the car getting a good going over, nearly missed our flight.

Its not the serchee that is the nazi.
Its the one who puts and holds the law on the books.
Its a simple invasion of privacy.
I am honestly shocked some of you see this as status quo.

Roker you have to be a Republican or a Tea Partier with a question like that...
I'd rather there be no need for searches of any kind, hows that ?
