Border Towns-some questions

Post by youngian »

I made my first long overdue trip to the Netherlands the other week and enjoyed a smoking holiday in Maastricht.

As I can't stand airports I go via Eurostar to Brussels from London and stick to the border towns.

It seems things have changed since my heyday and I belive Roosendaal and Bergen Op Zoom have shut their coffeeshops.

What is going on?

Is limburg province going to follow suit?

How far inland will this policy go, will Breda be next to shut up shop for example?

Is their any officvial national government policy on closure or is it up to local towns?

Is this clampdown due to neighbouring country pressure or is it due to Dutch government pandering to right wing nutters like Wilders?

Bergen op zoom&Roosendaal are shut down definitely.
As for Maastricht/Limburg i believe they have make the shops into a club. Becoming a member is available for locals only,no tourist. You need your membershipcard for buying and only 3grams a day max.I have heard that the new goverment wants to make this BS national. If this will happen,i don't think you guys will come over so frequently anymore, hihihi

Sittard,Venlo,Roermond all have shops, although I would stick to Sittard or Geleen, they got some awesome stuff there and right now you can find some of the best outdoor you will get there.....love it, smoking it the hole day :D

the problem with Limburg is, there are many people who have some interest in the illegal trade, so they would love to see the shops closed....and of course due to the pressure from germany/belgium.

well.....right now the only thing you can do is have a blast at the shops and be a good tourist, dont make any noise etc, we need some quite times for the next years down there so all them fuckers calm down with their stupid arguments about "aggressive weed-tourists"....I mean its not true that they are a big noisence, still there are some people who think they can go to holland and do whatever they want, just because weed is being sold in shops....I hate them, most of them in Limburg are germans which embarass me.....

sorry for going that far, the outdoor gives such a nice natural and trippy high....have a blast!
