I would say that they 'do' buy cups. With a business mind on i can see why they do it, the amount of people who went into greenhouse on the last two trips asking for super lemon as it states its a cup winner even though the batch wasn't anything special.

The fact that they throw cash around giving out freebies etc is buying peoples attention and loyalty and therefore the cup. Fair enough giving out freebies isn't a crime as there is nothing wrong with that, but if it is true that they are directly paying high times then that is just messed up.

It's also well known that GHS will do anything to win it.
They give out free weed, pass massive vaporizer bags around the coffeeshop and generally do anything to win.

The biggest proof of all is the fact that GHS's strains win so much, when if you actually smoke or grow 'em they're pish in my opinion.

I think its universally accepted that coffeeshops do drop little goodies into the right hands at the right time in regards to the CC,Not knocking it or anything but it doesnt sound like the best strain always wins there! & there have been accusations in the past of "barneys" doing this also,I know he gives bushdoc freebies over at the smokersguide forum & in turn bushdoc ALWAYS writes favourable reports on his gear! not knocking anyone or anyshop but i am just saying it like i see it,Ps gona try this grinspoon for myself to see what all the fuss is about & if its overpriced i will say so! but if its like a religious experience i will note that also,KD.

LOL firstly the 50k is aprox how much would need to be spent on marketing for 1 strain. to high times, who a large majority of its readers buy judges passes so their advertisements are directed directley at their target audiance of course ppl are going to go n try it n most ppls memorable smokes are the first few purchases taste wise and also feeling effects of an individual strain when youve smoked 6 7 already that day???

So if the add does its job n makes that a first purchase then theyve a good chance of winning it.

Now if id paid 200e id want free weed n stuff too, so dont see how its a problem?

the cup is a load of shit if your looking to find out what the best strain out there is. the same 2 cats win year after year with the same old shit.

i agree its probably alot of fun to attend but i would rather spend my dough elsewhere and party in amsterdam on a different week.
