Try Stayokay Stadsdoelen. Near many CSs and nice location, central but without the city-centre Damrak style dirtiness in the area.

Honestly you are better off here than Flying Pig Downtown where you will not get ANY sleep!

i would suggest the Voyagers too but its seemed out of your price range

£50 a night for a single at Voyagers, Dunno if thats just over cup week but still cheap IMO especially with CS attached.

You could try the hostelbookers and see if they have the Travel Hostel (I think) on Spuistraat, stayed there in May as an emergency and TBH it was not that bad and very cheap cosidered i just walked (limped) in. Some times of the year you can pick up cheap rooms coz its stupid cold and no-one goes. I like Febuary before or after Valentines day you can pick up some bargains and CSs are mostly empty.

If your really cheap then yeah, go flying pig downtown. But be sure to book this week if your travelling Jan cause they book out fast. I stayed there one night a few weeks back and got put in a quad room with three Calothic Irish girls who smoked up in the room when they wernt out getting trashed. Fun times .. Otherwise see if HB at Voyagers can do a cheap deal but I dont think he has any shares just single/doubles.

I thought he said 30 pppn but it was actually prices start at 30 pppn, even so 70 a double ensuite is a good price especially as they've refurbed the place.

i know over the CUP i was quoted 50 euro a night at the Voyaers, which isnt bad at all,
