Fewer coffee shops as new rules begin to bite
15 November 2010
The Netherlands had 666 licenced cafes where small quantities of cannabis can be bought freely at the end of last year, down from 702 in 2007, news agency ANP reports.
In Rotterdam, 16 cafes, known as coffee shops, were shut down because they were too close to schools. And in the border towns of Bergen op Zoom and Roosendaal, all coffee shops were closed as part of efforts to stop drugs tourism.
If the schools rule was applied across the country, a further 94 coffee shops would have to close, the researchers, from Groningen University, said.
The new government, which wants to introduce passes for coffee shops, also wants to extend the school rule from 250 metres to 350 metres which will force even more closures.

If it was differant info to what he posted the other day then it would be fine I just dont see the point in wasting Slimlines bandwidth by posting the same stuff over & over.

If you think I'm wasting (1k worth) bandwidth, the next time you make an ACD donation, if you donate, throw in an extra 5 quid.

I personally think there are too many shops in amsterdam. There is a lot of crap that could be weeded (great pun) out. The only issue is that the big names will remain and that might mean competition is effected. Its a tough call.

i think you have just proved my point.
why is there so much negativity on this forum?
i personally think links to other news sites carrying info are usefull, most people dont search gooogle for these on a daily basis. and i think they carry more weight that someones personal opinion which is exactly that.

I am glad Puffin posts this stuff here as I have a lot better things to do than to trawl t'internet to look up weed related news all day, basically I have a life and weed ain't the be all and end all of it, so I just go on here and get all the weed related news in 1 handy forum, puffins link must have wasted about, oh I would say 50-250 kilobytes, lol. J-smoker is right, its getting more and more like channels each day in here with negativity and general flaming.
