I found a few, but TBH most were complete crap and were not worth the time DL-ing them.
I did not find any of useful significance.

oddly enough in my city the main sheeps/fanboys are all about android(maybe has something to do w/ this being microsoft territory). personally iv used both and i like iphone better. couldn't care less about flash.

tried the ipad though and it IS shit. worst product apple has came out with in a long time imo. has such a small market imo.

to answer the op's question though iv tried the free ap. havent brought it to dam though. seemed a bit shitty. will try some of the non free ones. also may bring my tom tom.
educating myself and waiting for the next trip.

Adroid is not all about Flash, although it's a bonus as opposed not, like Apple.

Ipad, imho, is probably worth about £200 when you handle one and check it out, my brother has one.

EDIT
My Android phone cost £400

Latest Iphone is still not open source and still don't offer Flash or removable battery/memory.

its interesting to mess around w/. but the only thing i can personally see myself using it for is travel. and even then it doesn't do all i need a computer to do when im abroad. just not for me i guess.

i can agree on the removable battery, but removable memory? i dont care about that, having the memory inbuilt gives faster accessing time.

and for you information on a jailbroken iphone it can support flash but not all flash.

and also, people are currently producing a dual-boot for the iphone to either boot in iOS or Droid.

i have an iPhone and as much as people will say they are shit etc.. the people that say that have never owned one themselfs, i cant imagine using a different phone now BUT if i was to get a different phone android would be the NEXT best thing.

iPhone is still way ahead of android (open source? but your apps cant work on EVERY phone)

regarding the iphone debate...

i bought the iphone 2g when it first came out and loved it, about a year later i got myself an android phone and decided to use that instead as i preferred it. Then about 3 months ago i got myself the new iphone. After using android for about a 2 years i can definitely say that the iphone is a better phone...It works quicker and seems much more reliable then the android o/s.

As for the apps, it would be good if there was a app that showed you where all the coffeeshops were instead of paying for the internet to use the map, as this costs a bomb.....How hard would it be to have a map as an app?

I have the lonely planet Amsterdam app. Since it's update a few weeks ago it actually pretty good, it has a zoomable map of ALL the areas of the city: centrum, jordaan, western canal belt, southern cb, vondel area, old south, de pijp, oosterpark, plantage and eastern dock land. Other than that there's loads of info on sights, shopping, places to eat etc.

Overall I think it's the best Amsterdam app out there they even have some of the coffee shops listed. However I got it for free and Im not sure I'd be so happy if I paid 5 bucks for it.. All the information and more can be found with a good old fashioned search of google. And saving a few maps to your iphone pictures could be just as useful!

I also have Amsterdam mobile city maps app and the holland Amsterdam mobile guide. But lonely planet seems best of all

Edit: I've just updated the holland Amsterdam mobile guide and it's map is much better with all tram routes shown!
