Mixers
Have you guys tried pipe tobacco ?
It seems to have a really nice smell ( reminds me of my Grandpa ) compared to that really nasty cigarette smell.
BTW American cigarettes smell the worse of all to me, Canadian smokes smell horrible but not nearly as bad as those American ones.
They just smell so strong to me.

My mixing originally stems from my first introduction to it by friends. In those times I would received a fatty being passed around already prepared and lit by others, as I didn’t have any papers, tobacco or herb.
Would chip in with some cash or baccy from time to time to be fair about sharing the costs.
There were a lot of resins/pollens about but not much decent bush available so that was another contributory factor.
So I suppose that start point influenced the way I continued although I have tried other options.
One mate stopped the tobacco as a mixer and got into various herbal alternatives, he liked some of them, and I found them to be too scented and sidelined them as a back up should all other supplies run out!
Maybe other people started off in the same way, plus and we pick up habits and learn from friends around us.
I like to think that everyone can smoke in a way that suits them whether through trial and error and/or with guidance from those many people with experience.
Have some fun – Mixed or pure - Smoke how you want and enjoy it.

Once I was a strong cigarette smoker (50+ per day) but I quit in 2002 and never started it again...
But I can´t smoke pure joints. I simply don´t like the taste... so I prefer 50/50 mixes.
I use "unprocessed" Tobacco, the brand is called "Pueblo" here in Germany, which is quite dry. But I often find it useful if the Weed is a little bit too wet (latest harvest!) I like to realy knead the weed into the tobacco and blend them together... a wonderful taste!

I've never seen that show before, looks good
Anywhere I can watch it online (apart from short youtube clips)?
Pipe tobacco smells great, but it is harsh as hell on the throat (same with rolling tobacco imo).Iko wrote:Have you guys tried pipe tobacco ?

I think I have, perhaps, the strangest smoking style of all!
Never smoked cigs (the wife did for YEARS but quit 10 years ago) but I got hooked on cigar wraps: not the single tubed ones you see in the dam but the wrapper of a Backwoods Sweet cigar. They used to be a really nice Connecticut Broadleaf but they've switched (I think its Nicaraguan now but tastes similar). We now use Fontal King dark cigar leafs - nice texture and we break off a tiny piece and roll a short, fat spliff (maybe half a gram of herb).
And here's where it gets strange - we ALWAYS plunk it into our glass bong! We used to smoke like this in coffeeshops back in the '90's (always bringing our own bong, didn't want to contaminate the bongs) but carrying a bong with you is a HASSLE
. Drop the shorty in the bowl, light it while drawing in slightly and the head will glow and the brown spliff will burn with enthusiasm giving you one HELL of a hit. Glass only - nothing fancy but good sized bong with a nice big water chamber kept clean and reasonably cold!
I went through my cuban cigar faze in the late '90's but pretty much gave them up (I figure I got one bad enough habit!).
I HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO HAVE TO smoke my hasj with tobac (some American Spirit). We used to smoke neat in a pipe and tried all that crazy stuff - hot knife, under glass, toilet paper rolls! I used to have access to delicious pure black Afghani (back in the '80's!) and never appreciated it because of the weak ass nature of trying to smoke hasj alone! When we made salads with weed we never knew what was getting us high! After visiting the dam and watching the locals we quickly became converts and began learning the art and science of a proper spliff!
On a soapbox for a minute...I'm convinced it's not the tobacco that's bad but the shit that these companies put in them (mostly US - Asian I suppose too!). How do I know? No one's addicted to tobacco - they're addicted to THEIR BRAND. My wife & I visited London back in '94 - she was a Camel light smoker and I picked her up a pack of fancy Dunhill's thinking, hey, we're on vacation let her splurge! She lit it up, smoked about half of it and said "That's nice, but now I need a cigarette". I went back and bought her a pack of Camel lights, she lit one up and was SATISFIED. Come on, it certainly wasn't the nicotine she was addicted to!
We only mix our hasj w/American spirits, never risking pre-rolls because of the shit they might be using. She can smoke hasj ciggy's all day and has yet to crave a cigarette. I've been smoking blunt style and while I smoke daily (and, I'm sure, carry a bit of a jones) I never EVER feel like I "need" to smoke.
Two weeks from Sunday morning WE ARRIVE!!

its bouquet sweet & pungent, its bite will roast
there is something in what you say. The companies would denie there is anything but pure virginia tobacco in their product but there is certainly a difference in the way each cigarette makes you feel.
Being British and getting shafted on cigaretes i changed to rolling baccy but that does not mix as well with hash (soapbar!) so the bit was a lot less. Made me have a packet of fagshandy for spliffs.
