Its pot luck whether you get served or not. I look at best 22 probably younger and on the last trip didnt get id'd. Pervious trip i got id'd every time.

If you were desperate there is more than likely a sympathetic toker that will grab you a bag of weed if you asked nicely and didnt dress like a chav.

Yeah I guess we'll just wait. No point paying and getting hyped up if it's gonna be shit cause of ID trouble and the like. Thanks for the info though.

Also, I feel I should add that it's a pain in the fucking arse having your age hold you back, in case you lot had all forgotten. Empathise, you were young once.

better to wait till you're all 18 by then you'll have saved enough to do the city properly and have a lot more fun....and without the chance of hassle

The sad thing is bud, its not always been that way. When I first started to visit, from the tender age of 16 ( back in the early 90's) no-one was bothered about ID... I wonder how different things would have been if I was a teen visiting now.

If i were you i'd say fuck it and come anyway. Cannabis is illegal in the UK, yet people still smoke. Don't expect to be hanging out in the coffeeshops (as most are dead strict) but I am sure you will still have a great time. Get a camping hut up at Zeeburg, its like a festival site with lots of groups of young people smoking away... You'll be fine!

I wish i was 17 again with no responsibilities, loads of girls to try it on with and just some easy classes at college to wake up for.

Go, but buy yer pot from the fellas that punt it at the markets........toke it up in Vondelpark, or a smoker friendly Bar.
I aint gonna tell ya not to try a coffeeshop ( I was toking in em when I was 17  ) , but I will say, don't stay in them for a smoke, that could bring them more trouble than its worth...

Why are some of you encouraging him to go into coffee shops when he is under age?
If he was 14 would you be encouraging it? 12 maybe?
It's exactly things like this that give the opposition ammunition when they try to close the shops.
I would have thought that we need to protect the fairly lenient rules that Holland has regarding coffee shops and MJ, especially at a time when the government are trying to make things more difficult.
We have all experienced being young and having to wait for certain rights.
He'll live if he waits till next year to visit Amsterdam!

Hey old timer, I don't think anyone is encouraging him to go into a coffeeshop underage, in fact I read the exact opposite. I do encourage him to go to one of the most fantastic cities on Earth though!

15 years ago there would have been nothing to discuss here. Shows that things do change!

Harsh comment there...Not sure how you have deduced his intelligence from a few posts.

This fella sounds quite switched on to me, coming on to a forum to ask advice, instead of just blinding doing something without thinking.

Fairplay I say, dont listen to the haters dude.

Wouldn't even bother, you risk having a really shit and frustrating time if you don't get served and you could get someones favourite coffeeshop shut down in the process!

It sucks to be a preacher, but I wouldn't waste your money. I'm 26, my wife is 31. We get ID'd all the time. In summer, it is much much worse as well because all the popular shops can be very busy and popular tourist haunts use ID'ing as a way to ease the crowds. I've seen people with greying beards, obviously in their forties turned away from Amnesia on a crowded summer day.

I went when I was 17 and asked the same question on Channels.nl I was scolded for considering doing such a thing because of the serious potential harm it can bring the coffeeshops... well guess what life's short and I did it, simple enough buddy just get a pals I.D that looks similar to yourself and use it, thats what I did and worked every time except for at the Bulldog (which is probably for the better). I was there when I was 17 years old in 2008 and guess what I probably looked like I was even 15 years old.
