The first time I went, about 18 years ago when it was still Guilders, I was with my brother and a friend and we done the Hull-Rotterdam crossing in my Nissan Micra with the plan being to camp somewhere. We ended up blowing almost all of our money on the casino on the boat over, and got off at the other side with £100, 3 crates of stella and a carton of cigs

We still had an absolute fuckin ball :D

My sentiments exactly. Hopefully some of my bloody clients will pay their bills before Xmas so I can have even more!

depends on how much you smoke. it can be very costly. also depends if you want to smoke the top end of the list and if you want smoke some the ice hash/budders/etc.

if you puff alot and want to smoke only the best i would say $200 euro would be ok... i havent had a problem blazing through $200 euro a day in the past but on more budget trips i have been able to get by with much less.

but like liquidswords said.. the more the merrier.

For me it all depends on what I have managed to save up in the year before my holiday. Im booked to go end of april 2012, Amsterdam for a week and seven days in Schagen with my sister. So hopefully I will have €1825, which I will divide into seven days; which works out approx €260 a day. I do not intend on spending this amount everyday, so I will have enough left over for my second week; As I do not have accommodation and food to worry about.

I spent about 80 euro per day on hotel.

On top of hotel, I spent about 60 euro per day on food, drinks and weed.

I alternate between eating out at cheap steak places and at Burger King -- so maybe that is why I managed to keep it at about 60 euro per day.

Oh, and I managed to save loads of money by buying the multiple-day tram/bus/subway pass.
