So Monday morning, departing our apartment, we encounter our swan neighbors (a family of three) battling the ice...

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1118.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1117.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1116.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1115.jpg

and head to Hill Street for coffee. Following that, breakfast and a visit to Betty's (no menu pic 'cause we didn't buy anything but coffee and juice!) for a smoke our own session and a chat with our friends, we wander into the Haarlemerstraat and make like olive oyl and pay a visit to:

Popeye's

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1119.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1120.jpg

I like Popeye's; they're sort of like that guy your group hangs out with but aren't always sure why? For some reason, they have a family vibe - kinda Mom & Pop British-Indian "cornershop". Like, they'll hassle you if you read the magazines without purchasing but are otherwise cool! Besides, I have fond memories of checking my email here en route to the het Schip Museum and getting my beloved job offer a couple of years ago. If THAT don't bring a tear to my eye, nothing will!

I digress.

Their weed and hasj, overpriced for SURE, are still quality. The Lemon Haze proved a killer even at the inflated price of 15 e/g (jeez lou-eez!)

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1122.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1123.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1124.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1125.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1127.jpg

Also, they really don't time your internet usage (like Softland!); I mean, I'm sure they'll cut you off eventually but you pretty much get a spliff and a cup or two worth of time for a euro or two. In the past, I've tipped and they've given me free time. I think they leave the access on all the time and just collect the money honor-system style.

Wandering back towards the apartment, we stop off at that hidden jewel of the centrum:

BABYLON!

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1128.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1129.jpg

Between the smiling, ready service - cool wooden dealer area - reasonable prices - and extremely high quality hasj (not to mention kicken coffee!), I see no reason why this shop wouldn't be on ANYBODY'S top list. It's certainly on mine! The Tidighan was a fudgy deLIGHT. Dense, choco-rich and warm and stoney matching the taste of the coffee PERFECTLY.

Ok, more pics... can't believe it was, what, almost two weeks ago? Damn!

After Babylon we hit the apartment and head to Nieumarkt square, discovering WINTERLAND!

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1133.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1134.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1135.jpg

Olliebollen!!!!

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1137.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1136.jpg

Skating rink...right in front of Smokey's too!

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1138.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1139.jpg

...and after some crepes, we're off to that Rembrandt Square favorite, BUSHDOCTOR

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1146.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1140.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1142.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1143.jpg

I was disappointed though, NO outdoor ice! No Mexi Ice, none of that killer ass Moroccan that I love! We settle for 2 g's of Domina Haze (A Mexican haze, according to the tender)

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1148.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1156.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1157.jpg

Back at the apartment we lay out our bounty from today's pillaging!

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1150.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1151.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1152.jpg

And some SF Valley Kush from Greenplace:

Hey, Happy New Year ACD members!! Just a little photo catch up while I'm hanging out smoking some really good (for me, Mr. no-more-than-$100.00 an oz at home!) indica - fresh and all plump buds for mids (or, more like upper-mids!). Anyway, first up is the Domina Haze from the Bushdoc...

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1156.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1157.jpg

I LOVE the early stages of vacation - energy and enthusiasm to spare, and the ability to burn non-stop! Said energy & enthusiasm brings us quicker than we expect into the Pijp where it's head STRAIGHT to Katsu, do not pass go!

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1159.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1160.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1161.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1162.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1163.jpg

...and the Nepalese Ice that we picked up:

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1164.jpg

REALLY nice, high octane, clean, chatty hasj! Again, to reiterate, consistently good product but for us not the friendliest environment. It's like they would rather be an unknown locals shop but are forced to deal with us so-called "pot tourists" 'cause their stuff is so good! They remind me of an art rock band that sort of resents the new fans when they have their first cross over hit, you know what I mean?

Anyone, I digress (and apparently this bud I'm currently smoking is pretty good too!). Departing the Pijp (including a rather tasty pastrami sandwich for lunch after our Katsu visit), we have time to stop off at the infamous Mellow Yellow to fulfill our Hasj quest, passing Christmas tree vendors en route:

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1165.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1166.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1167.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1168.jpg

WTF? No size 7! First, no Afghani at Katsu now this?!? I joke, if this is the worse thing that happens to me I'm one lucky mother flower...
Of course, we DID manage to score a prized gee of the Jungle Cream:

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1169.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1170.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1172.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1174.jpg

A prized black, 2nd in a row which is unusual for me as I'm pretty much a fan of what the Riff produces. None the less, I find myself craving some black action and the Jungle cream does NOT disappoint!

Later that evening, we make our way to the pheNOMinal VOYAGERS for our meet and greet with HighlyBlessed (leaving us HighlyStoned), not intentional mind you, he happened to be there and it resulted in the suPERB leb and the MIND BOGGLING Bonglord special...SPOON (thanks again BL!):

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1179.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1180.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1181.jpg

...and don't forget that WHACKED out original menu I was talking about! Check THIS out!!

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1176.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1177.jpg

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1178.jpg

AND, of course, what we smoked: Lemon Haze and Lebanese

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1182.jpg

...and friends met at the shop. This is Boris:

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1184.jpg

Later that night, some LA Cheese we scooped up at, I believe, Greenplace. Superb, of course, but I prefer their Kushes!

http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1187.jpg

Could this be more Greenplace Hasj? I THINK so!

Had some dude in Barneys throw a fit because I took a snap, moaning about "how he couldn't serve me know"

The rest of the shops were cool about it, the guy at the Dampkring just said not to get any faces in the pictures.
