Thanks for the encouragement... We've been going like crazy all day and it all began around 8 this morning with a post shower spliff of Amnesia gold before we headed out for our first romp as our usual dynamic duo selves! As much fun it was to stroll and hang by myself I sure missed the woman... It sure was nice to have her at my side
Desperate for coffee we pass by a closed bagheera and a closed Basjoe's and head towards Nieuwmarkt for Hill St Blues. It's quiet and we order coffee and sit down back with the shop to ourselves.
I roll a fat hasj j from the last of yesterday's gold and we soon find ourselves joined by a friendly transplant of 12 years who, despite his long stay, says he hates the Dutch with a passion! His discription of artistically shallow, money oriented with a lack of imagination sounded more like my own country back home than Amsterdam... I jest, but why stay? Anyway, we chat avant gard music and a bit of philosophy before departing for breakfast and the gal's first real bout of food since our departure Saturday night!
We head to our favorite breakfast joint behind th damrak near Betty boop for a proper British breakfast for me and a cheese tosti for her... She's starting off slow but enjoys every bite! Finally full we cross over to betty's to hang out with our buddy and, to our surprise, the owner who we've only known as our friends buddy for a couple of years. Cool. Our friend is optimistic about the coffeeshop future but still truly fears for his job. He makes a good point saying he'll be on the dole along with the other cs employees costing the govt even more money when 90% of the shops close. He mentions that the license issued to the locals will be good only for one specific shop... Pick one, that's it!
Now there's a post, what one coffeeshop would YOU pick?
Leaving for the apartment we stop and by a decent glass bong, thin as hell but it will last the week, for like 17.50 euro and stop by green place for a little something something to fill her up with! It's quiet, for a change, and I ask for something good and kushy, perhaps an unusual strain. He shakes his head, smiles and pulls out a tub of THE craziest purple bud I have ever had the privilage of laying my eyes on. My camera BLOWS for close ups, I can't lower the flash settings and all but pure daylight shots are washed out like Brittany Spears so, needless to say, the pics to be posted do NOT do the bud justice! At like, maybe 14 a gram we start with one and spin half up in a fontal leaf and pluck it in the bong.
BANG!
Thick as shit and earthy and musky it goes down smooth but ab-so-lutely DEVASTATES me. Rufy like, it puts me into a stupid stupor disabling all motor skills and requiring my every effort to stay awake! Looking for nighty night weed? Look NO further!
We also grab the reasonably priced twizzla at 11 euro for a gram of brown sugar, baby! It was so pure and light it looked ready to break apart like a sweet piece of maple candy yet when broken apart it begged to reunite with its kin making rolling that spliff a bit more challenging! Of course the purple did not help...
The taste of the hasj was sweet and light and ridiculously fresh as it appeared to melt into the tobacco with no effort resulting in a smooth smoke. The high was just that...high without the heavy body or head, quite a break from the devastating indica encounter. Strong and spacey it allowed me to finally leave the pod that was my couch and treat the wife to pizza and beer!
It's getting cold and we bundle up and head out in what I mentioned as "Christmassy" weather, chilly and snow humid without any wind. Earlier it was crazy foggy, the wife took some god pics I'll post. Money change and we're off to the Doors to see about their afghan ice I got a good year ago. It's busy and the menu is pretty skint so it's no dice on the ice and we pass on the vibe and head down Brouersgracht looking for this shop I swear I saw a year or two ago but, of course, can't find now! So we pass barney's..nah, not yer. Greenhouse? Too busy... Popeye's? Ok, there's enough room and we grab coffee, Internet and a gram of some mighty good looking lemon haze at, what, 12 euro per?
We're heading out for supper maybe the bushdoc for some end of nigh rx!
