Btw, I've only been here for a short while, but you can't begin to imagine how much joy and itchy feet your travelogue has brought to me.
Thanks!
D'oh! See, i was so wrecked i forgot to mention that in fact, the purple bud IS purple kush! Did I mention just how fierce that mo fo' was? My honey is spinning some of the leftovers now!

Gapie... Shoot me a PM, we're in town till Sunday and would love to meet up!

Ok, so we're chillin' in Popeye's surfing the net and smoking the Twizz whilst sipping coffee. This is nice. Popeye's is nice. Amsterdam is nice. I'm a lucky man. :)

We head out towards Centraal and up the Damrak and stop off at that buried treasure otherwise known as Babylon. I'm thinking it's gonna be a grab and go but the wife thinks one more coffee and another hasj ciggy are in order so she grabs a table and I scope the menu. Pretty much the same, not a bad thing since the priciest hasj, the Tijdigan (sp?) at 10 euro a gram. The ever smiling, always cheerful budtender enthusiastically shows me a huge block, breaking it apart gently in front of my nose. My olfactory senses go into overdrive and I gleefully order up two grams. We take our bounty along with the best coffee so far to the smoking room.

The result? Dense but not hard, dark brown and fudgy in texture it breaks up well developing an instant shell keeping each tiny chunk segregated for an easy roll but not as smooth a smoking pattern (I could have broken the bits up better). None the less, a choco-sweet taste envelopes my mouth and a quick wave of warm goodness to the head alerts me to the potency of this 10 euro hasj. Have I mentioned how much I love this place.

After an apartment break we venture out for dinner, winding our way towards Rembrandt square for mexi-ice and coco's outback. We pass the arabica and old Amsterdam and promise ourselves a visit tomorrow at both. We arrive in the square to a massive Christmas festival complete with full-sized skating rink, food, drink and much euro, father christmas style merriment! It was awesome! We wander, snapping photos and head to coco's. Ok, too loud and no one is eating so we head out and step into the first shwarma shop we see and WHAT a find; chick kabob with peanut sauce and a chicken schnitzel that was, well, PURE insanity!

We leave full but ready for our very first, fresh olliebollen! Jeez, everything you hear about them is true. A perfect blend of fried dough and donut! With powder sugar on my hands we head into the bush doctor but damn it, no mexi ice! It's all ice so we make the most of the trip grabbing a couple of quality cares and the obligatory 2 gram prchase of our morning smoke, a Mexican haze under the guise of Domina haze. It looks REAL nice and at least the 2 gram packs make for big buds and the 25 euro price tag weren't half bad! We'll taste in the morning... We ascend the ladder the call a staircase to the empty 3rd floor and feel a bit like we're in a scene from the movie Candyman! Great view and the Cure plays endlessly through the speakers creating a creepy-cool environment.

A return to the apartment via green place for a late night treat... What's close to that "purple bud" I inquire. How bout some SF valley kush? Hook me up my man, hook me up! 14 euros poorer but one gram richer we head home to bust out pajamas and that kush. The new San Franciscan treat? I'll let you know!

'till we meet again...

Coming on 7 Tuesday evening, sipping on a brew at the apartment smiling like a fool... :)

Cantona... Full melts still on the menu, typical out of control ice scene at the good doctors office...

Puff, I was wrong, that 11 euro price, your long term memory is sharper than my short term... 13 or 14 per.

Monday night footnotes: lemon haze from popeye's was a surprise; big, well cured buds who's aroma was a sweet pungent citrus with a taste to match and a nice spacey head high. My babe is rolling up the Voyager version now as I type. Also, the sf valley kush certainly delivered! Not quite as debilitating as the purple but that rich, fruity, earthy vibe permiated my body like a warm bath.

We wake around 10 am, having stayed up till about 2 on Monday, we break open the Domina from bush docs after a shower but before our first coffee. It's sharp, pungent oder is apparent upon opening the 2 gram sack and the buds are good sized for a sativa. The taste is pure and thin providing us with proper ammunition to head out for that vital first cup of he day.

Bagheera has it's open light on but we find ourselves first in and, as a result, the shop is a bit chilly and the espresso machine, not quite up to temperature, serves tasty but not hot enough cares. We smoke the twizz from last night, still delectable even at a price a bit more than previously reported!

We woke up hungry as all get all and decide to scope out some food. Toward Rembrandt sq, past the christmasland... Keep going. Broodjes place near mellow yellow? Keep going... Before we know it we're ordering eggs, cheese and ham for her and pastrami for me at a little place in the Albert Cuypmarket. Refuelednit's time to take advantage of Katsu around the corner.

Two things: I swear I have never seen anyone but that one thin, attractive mature black chick... Is she the owner? 2nd, we sit at the same two person stool every single visit! Cool shop, never the friendliest though and we never order more than one coffee. The music, however, was insane today! Buddha bar lounge upon arrival and a live "no more heroes" by the Sranglers before we left. While there, I scope the menu for that rare afghani hasj on saw on fly by nights site but alas, it was not to be. I happily accept the budtendress' offer of 0.7 grams for 10 euro Nepalese Ice. Like a super fresh temple ball, it has that all head no sleep soaring effect that had me enthusiastically explaining the significance of the stranglers song to my patient wife!

Time for dinner, Peking Duck in Chinatown!

A buy and fly at the mellow and a most memorable time at Voyagers to come! :)
