Looking for some quiet coffeeshops

Hi,

Are there some coffeeshops with no music or at least with a rather quiet atmosphere ? I suffer from quite severe hyperacusis so I can't go where the music is louder than just "background" music.

I know that some coffeeshops have a terrace, is it possible to smoke weed on the terrace ? I guess I wouldn't be comfortable while rolling a joint in front of everybody outside.

Thanks.

seems like a shitty condition to have! never heard of that before.

anyways, when i was in Tweede Kamer is was pretty quiet. I think there was music on but it was very low and the people outside on the street were louder than the music. The parks (Vondel, Sarath..(sp?) would probably be a great option as well, weather permitting of course.

Also you shouldn't fell awkward about rollin up, they all know that is what's goes on.

You have no idea. It can happen to anybody who listen too much loud music so beware.

I'll try the Tweede Kamer, thanks a lot for your suggestion !

Hill Street on Nieuw-Markt has seats outside and tends to play fairly quiet mello tunes throughout the day. Top staff as well, decent selection of bud. 8)

I don't remember the music being loud in either Amnesia or Katsu from previous visits (Tweede Kamer sounds like a good call also!). I havn't been to any coffeeshops where I found the music to be too loud for comfort but then I like loud music anyway - but the loudest coffeeshops I have been in were Baba and Greenhouse Centrum for music, and Dampkring for people noise!!

Both Katsu and 420 strike that perfect balance..... not to loud to hear yourself speak or your friends but loud enough to drift away when the buzz takes you.

Having said that.... that medical condition could change the whole perspective.

Good luck. Off the top of my head I can't think of a quiet one.

Yes, for example, the "meow" of a cat can be quite painful for me. It depends on the frequency of the sound.

Thanks everybody for your suggestions, I write down all the name for my trip tomorrow.

I've been told in another forum that some coffeeshops don't allow you to smoke outside, or at least ask you to roll your joint inside before smoking it outside.

Thank you everybody for your answers. My plane will take off in a few hours :-).

Hi everybody.

I'm back from Amsterdam. I managed to find a few quiet coffeeshops. I don't remember their names except for one: Hollywood. It is really quiet, even at night. It seems to never be crowded, you can always have a sit. Their weed is good and the staff rather nice. In fact I visited it last summer (but I had forgotten) and it has not changed a bit. It would deserve to be more popular.
