Greetings fellow tokers, signed up this site a week ago and noticed the 420 gathereing '07. Sounds like a great idea. I'll prob be going on my own as we're goin a month before too, but im ALWAYS up for a session. Perhaps a Bong-athon is on the agenda? I'll be in touch.............
welcome aboard. I am one of those going to 420 next year, Have apartment booked. Lots of info here and more at the 420 crew's page www.forumsvibe.com/virtualdam Check it out, many things on the agenda, including trip to Haarlem for Coffeeshop crawl, renting a RooR at their new shop, and our own review of the shop we visit and the weed we smoke.
Thank you to FBN for crediting me with the idea of the ACD Cup idea on his sight, I feel humble and honoured. The 420 Olympics came as an add on.
What I wanted to achieve was judging the shops / weed in a similar way to the CC, but whithout the politics and bullshit. (however if you want to pay me £500 for a judges pass, then PM me for paypal details).
My suggestion would be to take the most popular shops as voted by the people on this board (listed below) and add one or two which are not there (Nes springs to mind). Then either decide before hand which strain we should try from each shop, and meet up at 4:20 on 4/20 and vote for our winners. The idea I prefer would be to walk in and let the dealer recommend a strain, that way we could also judge the dealer’s helpfulness and knowledge (maybe we should include Dutch Flowers).
Then when we meet, we could have the Olympics and fun and games. Any thoughts guys & girls?

My last good game of round the world was played in amsterdam. I won but then i was no good for the rest of the day. If this drought will end soon, ill def be there on 420.

I for one think it's a great idea! Definitely would like to add a few more shops to the list....ones that come to mind are NES, Amnesia, and de Rokerij. ) I also think it would be a good idea to make a division or so of strains, like best sativa, best indica, and best hash that a dealer would make a recommendation on. Some of us prefer some strains over others. Therefore, we tend to smoke more of that strain. I think that would lend a better opinion to the judging. What do you think?
Also, how about judging customer service? I think that's a relevant category. I mean a shop might have great weed or hash, but if they give bad service, that's one place I'm not going back to. I for one know I prefer some place that's friendly combined with great burnables. NES is certainly one of those places that come to mind!
Zunkii----I think this is a great idea, and i will gladly participate. I think someone (such as yourself : ) ) will have to kinda take charge and make the list and criteria etc., cause you know how us stoners work....talk talk talk smoke sleep....but if you get it mostly setup i think most will just go with the flow and we will all have a blast.

I think that it may be too dificult to do as Bluming suggests and have a sativa, indica and hash catagory, cos if we chose 8 shops and a sativa, indica and hash from each, 24 different joints in one day may be a bit much even for the most hard core of us to judge.
I like the idea of just walking into the chosen shops and asking the bud tender "What do you suggest no pref hash or grass". It will be interesting to see if we all get suggested the same thing or if he tries to rip off the more touristy looking amoungst us.

are we to rate by a scale of 1-10, are we all trying different smokes and giving our sole feednack...
in my stoned state, i visualised having an A4 sized sheet (maybe A5) with a list of tick boxes and a comments box for each catagory

Apart from all the fun and joking we'll have over the weekend of 420 I think we could get this off the ground and make a bloody good show of it, nice idea Zunk

You do have a point, 24 joints in one day would make it difficult to give an overall opinion. I didn't look at it that way. You have some good ideas. It works for me!
I'm up for whatever. The group had also suggested a Haarlem crawl on Saturday and FBN has put up info on his site. Should who ever goes on that do the same review's
