A quick word about Stix Gunpowder:

The two shops (Utrechtsestraat near Rembandtplein, and the one near Nieuwmarkt) have split ownership now. The Nieuwmarkt shop has a different menu.

When I stopped by the Nieuwmarkt shop (now called "Solo") last month, I examined the menu and found "Skuff". For years I have been scoring a gram of Gunpowder (AK-47 crystals) and dropping that into a cup of hot chocolate. All good, that's a proper dose for me.

I asked about the origin of the Skuff and the budtender (very nice woman) could not tell me. As I started to dump the gram into the hot chocolate, something in the back of my addled mind said "just do half and see what happens". This turned out to be a wise move.

I stopped by Green Place on the way to the Nes, grabbed a gram of Chocolope, sat in Nes with Mrs. Lafe and we smoked half the gram of Chocolope. About ten minutes later the Skuff hit, and it hit hard. I found myself fighting a whitey with everything I could muster and finally managed to get my shit together after about 15 or 20 minutes, which included a very difficult trek from the bar to the outdoor seating area for some fresh air. Twice I tried to go outside and could not stand.

The Mrs. looked at me and said "problem?", to which I replied "oh yes....", before I made it to fresh air. Wow. After 20 minutes or so we decided we should leave, but I wanted to say goodbye to DC so we went to the bar, ordered beer, and made a proper departure.

I don't know if the Solo Skuff is always that strong since it was my first experience, but it knocked my dick in the dirt.

We did manage to make it to the hotel, recover a bit, then close down the RLD bars :-)

Curious side note: one year to the day prior to my fighting off the whitey, my mate fell to the ground in the Nes with a whitey, in the exact spot I conquered mine. His head missed the bench by the computer by six inches or so. His last words before falling: "I think I need some air".

He's a bit of a lightweight, so I think it would have been fair of me to tell him about the bits of hash I laced the gram of pure White Dolphin with. My bad, note to self.... :-)
