Amsterdam just isn't the same anymore...

Post by wheresthegoodshit »

Myself and many of my friends have been visiting Amsterdam and it's coffeeshops for almost 12 years now. We usually stop off for around 4 days and fall headfirst into as many coffeeshops as possible. The last time I was over was almost 2 years now, this was when the various types of grass/green/skunk was as you know, dynamite! I have recently just returned from New Year over there and it sickens me to say this but the grass over there is hellish! It's a waste of money once you find out it's 14 euros a gram apart from the fact that it's a tasteless, guttless high! Where the hell is the Whitewidow I expect to be buying in amsterdam? You don't even have to smell it, you just need to look at it and you can tell it's absolutely definately not whitewidow. The next time I visit the Dam I'll be taking my own stuff over. Please understand that this is nothing to do with the cost of the grass but solely to do with the quality of the grass. I've heard some explanations but not sure what to believe.

you can never ever compare your own good grown grass with the grass you can buy!
but the weed you get in most shops in ok and above average, better than the weed a dealer sells imo. 8)
but own stuff is grown with love and care and the taste and effect the result.

Ive been going to the Dam for 15 years and your talking shit.

Your telling me you visited every coffeshop and cross referenced and evaluated everything?

No. Sweeping statements of negativity dont help anyone.

I was over again for Xmas and was more than happy on every occasion I purchased from De Dampkring and from Funky Monkey.

The world is a different place today that it was yesterday, get over it.

Why is it these one post wonders crop up every now and again spouting this same old shit?

Please do us all a favour and do not return to our beloved Holland until you realise the scene isn't just about your opinions on the quality of the weed and leave it to the rest of us to appreciate the city, it's amazing liberality, and its awesome coffeeshop culture while it is still around.

Please stay at home and smoke your own amazing, faultless weed. Please.

Well if he can get off his ass and read the reviews on whats hot and not like 99% of us do then you cant fail to find decent gear in dam. Not that there can be a word of truth in his post anyways.

no doubt the overall quality and prices in amsterdam are quite pathetic for something that gets called the 'weed-capital'.
and yes, from my observations it is much harder to find good weed today than it was 3-5 years ago

if you say it is normal that shops carry such bad quality compared to smaller growers, then how do you explain the obviously MUCH higher
quality of the stuff they sell in north america in huge quantities (apparently also at much better prices)?

very sad replies so far, as expected from this place.
