I see Thai on allot of the menus in the DAM but wonder if it is what I am looking for.

I don't want the brown, twiggy, seedy rubbish.

I do want the natural green happy uplifting social smoke I used to have as a boy.

It is for smoking in the mornings while in the DAM so not to strong just a good social smoke with friends. I don't want to be stoned I want to have energy to get up and walk around the DAM and also have a clear head so I take in and process information.

Where is best to get it at a good price on the 1g with good deal on 2g. I don't want to have to walk more than 15/20 minutes from the centre.

Stoner79 I was born in 79 and I remember that green weed as well, happy days. I have never seen anything like in the last 15 years in Dam or England. Was it thai? I dont know but it definitely wasn't skunk. I have seen thai weed in dam and it has always been dry and crispy nothing like the green weed we had back in the day! I remember A real nice smoke before school to get me through french or maths haha.

Little used to do a very good thai in my opinion, cant compare it to the one you had back in the days, but I liked the taste and the social high

So we are talking outdoor here? I know what you are talking about. It was good thai weed, it was around in the 80s for sure.

I would go to Yo-Yo in de Pijp. They pretty much only sell Dutch-grown outdoor. At least its nice and fresh and won't knock your ass out. And perhaps one of their strains will be close to what you seek

Marco, yes we are talking outdoor weed I would guess, no chemicals that I could say for sure. I was smoking thai weed allot around 1997/8 before all the real strong skunks where starting to hit the street in quantities (where I lived anyway). Galerie/Coffeeshop Yoyo looks to be far out, not sure if I will have time to make it out that far, but we will see. Do you have a menu for yoyo???

Jossy, no the old thai weed was half the strength of skunk, I reckon it was a light Sativa.

It's contraversial i know but i always get about 3 or 4 gms of purple while im out there. Always the nicest way to start the day for me.

Rockland has always offered a nice version IMO

The outdoor purple a friend and i had in september from paradox was good. Maybe the thai might be too.

Yes it's a very nice mellow outdoor grown weed, thats a pleasure to smoke in a real nice enviroment.

I too smoked Thai in the UK in the late 80s...

The only place in Amsterdam that has a passion for good Thai, that didn't treat it as a bookend to the low part of the menu was cafe anyday with their Thai sticks. Yummy anyday is always worth a visit for mellower weed.

Id agree 100 % about thai from Katsu - Its the best thai you will find in dam, but its nothing like described here from the old days. Its much better than the brick/string 'thai' we get now in the uk though, but nothing like as good as I ever had in 5 years living out there. I never saw brown thai weed in thailand, just green.

Thats why I loved casey jones so much, the 1/3 of it that is thai genetics fucking rocks! Its a twisted buzz, close to the old school thai (but much heavier, I guess that would be the trainwreck 1/3!)

Thanks templeball, yes you are not the first to mention Katsu, must get out there to check it out. I am quite interested in Case jones and might try it but I tend to like to take it to extremes, in the morning I like something every light and uplifting with the brake fast (Thai). Then I was thinking to try Quaze or something that has a strong clear high (any suggestions welcome) but no stoned effect for during the day. Then at night I like a very strong stoned smoke to put me out for the night.

I see that Rookies have some Thai stick at 6euro 1g. Anyone tried that? Uplifting brake fast smoke maybe? Anyone know what strain that would be?

Yeah thats the one. I always stay at the Hotel Aspen directly opposite when going solo.

The purple is normally something ridiculous like €10 for 2 gms.

I always find it a nice up high that makes me wanna go walking around but not in a smacked upside my head kind of way. It's a little bit fruity with a hint of parma violets...the old sweets. They do alright coffee in there too. Its not the smartest place but i always find them real friendly and have sat at the benches for many hours.

Its cheap enough to trial and not worry if you dont like it.

I'll be getting some if they have it in March.
