Eagle Bill shake and vape

Having given up smoking for new years I thought it was time to get a vaporizing pipe so I could still enjoy my favorite herb,3weeks of detoxing is a pretty long time for me so when my "Eagle bill" pipe turned up yesterday I was pretty excited to give it a blast.

Very impressed for first time vaporizing herbs and a great alternative to smoking but it does look like a crack pipe, the high seemed to last alot longer for alot less herb used compared to smoking a Doobie. Actually I was quite f*ucked.

Off to the Dam in March and can't wait to try the volcano!!!
Anyone else use the pipes to vaporize?

I was going to buy this the other day. Is it awkward to use having to hold a lighter under it?

No not at all,I did opt for holding it over a tea light candle on the second go, I'm going to get one of those cheap windproof type lighters to use as the Bottom of the pipe has blackened up,but that's to be expected with that sort of flame, I'm sure it will clean off fine.

I was given mine right from Eagle Bill when he was still alive.



Works as well as any. And yes a jet lighter keeps the outside of the bowl a lot
cleaner. Heats faster too. Just grind your weed as fine as you can and once the glass is hot
shake the weed around a little.

The Eagle Bill does work ok, but its tiresome to use after a while. You have to hold the lighter at the right distance, in the right spot, for just the right amount of time. Its a good way to try vapor for the first time, to see if you like it. But after a few long sessions, I can guarantee you'll getting frustrated with it. Its a lot of work and attention to keep the vapor flowing. And you go through butane VERY quickly, as you need to keep the lighter flame open for a good 5 or 10 seconds for each hit.

Also, you can make a homemade version quite easily, I've also done this:

Yes, I've made one before. If you just want to try vaporizing to see if you like it, the lightbulb vapes/eagle bill are enough. Its possible to get decent vapor from them, with practice. You will probably burn the weed a few times before you get the hang of it. You'll also get some hits where the temp was too low, and you'll be wondering "did I get anything? Am I doing it right??".

Thats my main criticism of these style of vaporizers, and many of the lighter-based models. When you're getting high, you just want to lay back and enjoy, right? Not be constantly worrying about getting the exact, even temperature, not burning yourself, and having to pick up the lighter every 30 seconds. Trust me, I've been there, it gets frustrating after a while, because you're constantly looking after the equipment instead of enjoying the high.

Give it a try, and if you like it at all, I suggest you try out a proper electric vaporizer. Come to Amsterdam

Agreed it can be a bit of a pain at times loading it up but the hits you can get off it when you pack high soon make you forget

Hope you have a great time in the "Dam", "Doobietronic", especially with the vaping,....me thinks that after the taste sensation/awesome high, you and your good lady are about to experience, for so little of the precious green(Weed and Money), that you both will indeed...."be wanting one."
I've had/read some fantastic input on the subject threads, from the outstanding communal wisdom on here and now i've got one, i can't wait to get back over to sample and see what i was missing....for all this time.
If you get the chance, try some vapin' device with a 'whip', (that's the smokin' length of tube to draw through, not something the Mrs uses to teach you a lesson whilst you're tryin' to get high ) This different sort of vapin', instead of usin' a bag, might give you some valuable insight as to which vaporizer you might like to buy. (Take some wipes to clean the mouth parts )
Please post and let the forum know about you and your good lady's experiences of the different weeds and voporizers, from all the different places you visit
It could be quite a thread. Take a pen and paper with you,...your memories of what and where, may become...very,very vague...it could be... quite a ride...

Heading there early on the 12th march for 3 nights,it's 18months since I last was in the holy land and I've never really been organised on previous trips. This time with the help from this site I'm certainly going to be able to make the most of my time there...

Nice one for the tip on the wipes and I'll be sure to try one of the whip type vapes. Gonna be making notes over the next couple of weeks, of which c/s have what vapes etc...

I'm lucky to normally be able to get good weed where I live but you've got a better chance of finding rocking horse shit than good hash, so this visit I'm hoping to sample as many high grade resins as possible, am I right to assume hash burns/works equally as well on vapes?

Will be sure to report my findings

I'm not so sure that solid works as well as weed, in at least some vaporisers,... i think it's 'pots and pans', soft and oily may vape in some but could be messy in the machine...i'm sure i've read someone used two screens to try and avoid this...but you're on a very tight time scale and don't want to mess around... this is more something you'd want to use on your own vape at home to find out not in a coffeeshop, where some budtender might blow a gasket!!!!
Best to have a look through the vaporiser 'section' for more accurate answers!!
I'm sure you'll get the answers from all the kind hearted tokers on here if they read your post as well
"Doobietronic", if you have access to quality weed, as long as you like vaping, then a vaporiser is so good for so many reasons.
