***hardly any bud pix & didn’t take proper notes on prices this time, apologies. especially on the ice hashes, prices are uncertain. other pics thrown in basically at random***
This time it’s me (P) and a friend (A). A smooth easyjet flite gets us in nice and early. Walk to the cheap hotel, a fine cold rain dusts my face. Check in, dump bags, say hello to the cat, out again.
Hunters
Had a look at their Purple Kush- crap. Also checked out 100% sativa- looked okayish but too pricey.
P- 1g Super Silver Haze 12.50e- very average all round
A- 1g Chiesel Diesel- strong, cheesy, no real grapefruit taste. Nice enough.
A- 1g Chocolope- this was pretty good. Strong, sweet, fruity. A’s fave of this trip.
Attempted upsale on every purchase. Weird, wired, odd budtender. Not rude tho, happy to chat about the wietpass. He reckoned it was entirely possible and that it would be a good thing!?!?

PURPLE KUSH IS OFF THE MENU!! My favourite strain. Disappointment! No SF Valley kush either.
P- 1g Trainwreck 10e- Uplifting fruity light sativa. Always buy this. Reminds me a bit of hawaiian haze or a watered-down amnesia. Great daytime smoke.
P- 1g OG Kush14e- fuck, this is strong. Reeks of rotten coffee. Amazing taste and blinding high. This one sat me down. A ruinous smoke- do not smoke if you need to do anything!
P- 1g Twizzla 13e. Maroc, Looked awesome but even tho it was my first hash of the trip the taste & effect were weaker than I remembered.
A- 1g Larry Lemon 13e- Not up to much. I tried to steer him away.. what can u do.
Abraxas souvenir shop
Always stop by here for Saverette joint holders (you can put a lit joint in them and it goes out). They were out of the large size so got some small ones, 0.40e. Chatted to the friendly bloke working there who threw in a bunch of extra saverettes and stickers.
Blues Brothers
A- 1g Sour Kush- I don’t remember much about this. It was strong, A liked it. Snooty budtender in here with blonde hair.
Lost In Amsterdam
A likes a beer, I can count the number of bars I’ve been to in Dam on the fingers of one hand so I thought I’d at least get to see some new places this time round. This is that place on Nieuwendijk with the massive glass front window they open up in summertime, its a wicked comfy spot (no shoes!). Horrendously expensive drinks though, 2.70e for tea??. Came back here a few times and chatted with some cool people.
Popped back to the hotel as our rooms were ready and had a little tokeout, my single room was right at the top looking out on to the street, perfect. A’s room still wasn’t ready so he got a double at no extra cost
Lunchtime so A got W2W and I got Maoz falafel with extra lettuce, we chonged them down in De Kuil 420 (love to bring food in there). An awesome coffeeshop for an after-lunch spliff; just an awesome coffeeshop, a beautiful place.
Grey Area
10 minutes queuing, but it’s nice this guy takes the time to talk people thru their purchases.
P- 1g Yellow Cab 8.50e- mm, perfect daytime smoke or wake & bake. Clean, cured bud, lots of yellow/orange hairs. Will be back for more next time.
P- 1g Casey Jones 11.50(?)- Delicious fruity taste and odd high that was both high and stoned in equal measures. Nice.
Green Place
Made out way back here ‘cos I had a meet planned with wietroker from the forums, introduced ourselves and sat at the window chatting & toking for an hour or two. wietroker is an chilled out guy who knows lots about amsterdam & we had plenty in common to talk about. Had planned to do a ‘joint’ review of purple kush from gp but as i said, off the menu. We smoked & shared various items before going our separate ways. Was great to meet you dude, let’s do it again sometime!
Basjoe
1g Jamaican High Grade 6e- I was pretty wasted by this point. Wanted something milder than the OG I’d been working on. This was dry, harsh and only really good as a partial tobacco substitute, which I proceeded to use it as.
Seem to have a gap in my notes here. I know we went to the burger bar and got awesome burgers which we took back to the hotel room. Man- best burgers ever & amazing frites. But it was huge, I ate the whole thing and half of the fries and started to feel majorly ill. Not sick, just headache, mild whitey-like symptoms. Sat in A’s room a bit and decided I needed fresh air and tea so we shuffled down Haarlemmerstraat to Popeye’s. I gingerly sipped green tea and didn’t smoke anything. Half an hour and I called it quits, in bed by 10 or something. It had been a long day!
***woke up at 4-5am feeling like hell.. staggered around a bit, had a piss, ate some rennies and drank some water and forced myself to lie down. sleep again***

Woke up feeling fresh as a daisy. Bread &cheese for brekkie at the hotel, took the rest of the pot of tea upstairs to have with a morning toke out of my vertiginous window, then went for a brief morning walk.

Not been here before due to the fact that it looks like crap. This place is in fact a hidden gem of Amsterdam. Went in and recognised hb from description on the forums. “you are highlyblessed from the internet”, i said and he agreed. An awesomely friendly, helpful & knowledgable guy in all respects. The rest of the staff in there were all really nice too.
P- 1g Purple Strawberry Bliss 13.50e- was alerted to this strain by this travelogue and put Voyagers top of my hitlist. It didn’t disappoint! See pics. Purple kushxblueberryxstrawberry, apparently a happy accident in the growroom. I am pleased to report the purple kush flavour comes through noticably
Sweet berry flavour, awesome uplifting sativa buzz with a bit of stoned. Fave smoke of the trip, kept coming back for more. It’s not very dense bud either so your gram looks massive. HB said price is poss coming down to 12e in the near future.
P- 0.5g Parvati Black 6e- Strong flavour & cool-flannel to the face effect.
A- 1g Sour Diesel- Proper grapefruit taste, this is the ‘proper’ sour diesel if you like that.
A- 1g PPxBB 8.50e- Don’t remember much but I remember being impressed for the price.
Little
A- 1g Jack Flash 7.50e. Unremarkable but big fluffy gram. Chilled for a while. This place is always chill. Was playing Shithead (a card game) with A... noticed a group of foreign kids sitting on the table opposite.. they were playing exactly the same game, I wanted to go over and ask what they called the game- scheisskopf?- but I forgot.
Bushdoctor
Good service today from lady budtender. A rarity, usually snooty dutch guy.
P- 1g Gran Daddy Melt Hash 55e- I have raved about this stuff elsewhere on the forum. Always a must-buy for me and as good as ever. Disintegrated completely into powder in the baggie this time round.
P- 1g Sherezade & 1g Bab Bera- smoked both of these and they were both awesome marocs as memory serves. More info if post arrives.
P- 0.5g Sensi Star ice hash 17.50e(?)- Dry, crumbled very easily to powder. Slightly harsh dry taste, nice flavour of weed comes through. Strong comforting high though, i enjoy this, goes GREAT with thai weed.
Wok To Walk
Can’t believe I’ve never been here before. They make that stuff in the wok right in front of you. The smell of frying noodles fills the place it smells so good. I had noodles with coconut curry sauce, chicken, broccoli & pineapple. Some of the tastiest chinese food I’ve ever had:D Took it to 420 again and got a green tea to go with.
Hill Street Blues
Met up with HenryHill123 from the forums here, have met this dude before he is a very laid-back new yorker who loves his smoke! Was great to check up and swap stories of our travels. Cheers for the Bambu skins! (it’s the winking spaniard!) Got majorly sidetracked by the discovery of an arcade machine in there which you can select from a list of old-skool classics like Metal Slug, Metal Slug 2, Metal Slug X, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter II Turbo, a whole load. They appear slightly speeded-up from the originals though making them harder. Tetris is on there too This place also has nice drinks for reasonable prices, and drum & bass music. Realised I had been playing on the arcade for a while so caught up with A & HenryHill who were chatting away.
Red Light Bar & Coffeeshop
A wanted to hit up a bar in the RLD for a beer and to watch people going in and out of the kamers. We found it hilarious timing when punters went in and betting on how long it would take them to emerge, got the rest of the bar in on the action.
P- 1g Orange Bud 10e- Smelled fresh n’ fruity in the tub, wanted something light. Clean & uplifting daytime smoke& nice hash mixer.
Coffeeshop 36
Had a pinball tournament with A & smoked up, quite a nice place and.... pinball! Checked out the bud nothing stood out. The guy behind the counter recognised my God Dethroned tshirt and said “god dethroned is a fucking cool band man”, i noticed he was wearing a Morbid Angel tshirt. We chatted about metal for a while, apparently Napalm Death go to coffeeshop 36 and he knows them. We leave with a free pack of skins from the generous metalhead.
Back to Lost In Amsterdam, met some cool blokes mark & dean from liverpool (hi guys) who we lounged & chatted with in the front window til they turfed us out at 1am.
Monday 24th
Awoke feeling fairly crappy, a shower & brekkie soon sorted that out. A knock on A’s door provoked only burbled nonsense so I set out for a morning walk, arriving again at Voyagers by a roundabout route for my morning gram of purple strawberry, (a new tradition?). Got a text from A saying he was going to HSB for a coffee so strolled over there. We sat on the comfy sofa with some dudes from manchester with whom we swapped stories and laughs.
Babylon
1g Tidghin 10e- This is what I’ve been looking for, holy grail. I wanted to find a maroc hash as good and tasty as Alladin’s Chocolate from Popeyes, but for 10 euros instead of 15. This is, to me, indistinguishable from that hash. Light in colour and crumbly, delicious strong piney earthy smell & taste with an effect on the sinuses a little like a menthol cigarette. Strong uplifting sparkly high. Great on it’s own or mixed with weed. ‘Serving suggestion: Try weed’
A wanted some more seeds for his bro so it was into Baba seedshop once more, a smokeup in 420 then A headed for Centraal as his time in mecca was up... I still have 28 hours to go
The Green Place
I was headed for the Southern portion of the city and De Graal et a but got sidetracked here- I don’t think I can physically walk past this shop without going inside.
0.5g Green Crack- Very unremarkable. Do not recommend.

Skeptical about this place due to high prices and cannabis cup bullshit, but wanted dr grinspoon as hunters 100% sativa didn’t smell up to par.
1g Dr Grinspoon e?- Friendly helpful budtender scooped up a bunch of crystal from the bottom of the tray along with the shakey bud. Delicious hazey pineapple-tropical taste, light fruity zingy smell. Uppity high, no trace of heaviness. Great if u r into that.
0.4g-ish Tangerine Nectar 20e (45e/g, i think?)- ice hash made from their ‘cupwinner’. Looked at it under the microscope- an endless sea of perfect yellow-brown thc globules. Bought as much as I could with the money in my wallet. Came back the next day it was sold out, more being made. IF YOU SEE THIS ICE HASH IN STOCK, BUY IT!! Soft dark brown fudgey goodness, kind of hard to skin up but doesn’t really stick to your fingers that much. Amazing strong thc taste- this actually tastes good in a spliff on it’s own with baccy, a rarity amongst ice hashes. Incredibly strong sativa high. Feels like you could kick off and your heels would leave the ground. Buy it.
Dampkring
0.5g White Choco is this 8 or 9 euro a gram? it’s cheap- This stuff was GREAT! fruity and strong, skunky, more character than your standard cheese cross or amnesia and just as effective, and cheap. Will buy again.

Woke up early feeling good, shower, breakfast, packed up & prerolled a couple, final spliff out the high window. Dumping bag at reception I walked to City Hall & the post office on this beautiful sunny winter morning, stopping for a spliff on one of the little bridges on the way, and continuing southwards. Got the most amazing cheese croissant at Simon Meijsson bakery on Albert Cuypstraat- this bakery is possibly the best place ever. If you like food- go there.
De Graal
Awesome coffeshop. Friendly, local yet welcome to tourists. Homely living-room vibe. Sat in the comfiest leather armchair downstairs with a hot chocomel. Surrounded by books, I Iooked to my right and saw an ashtray on the coffee table next to me, jar of roaches and a lighter, candles- this place has everything!
5e deal Bio Shiva- Nice, clean bud. Not too strong.
5e deal Jamaican- brown thai weed-like stuff. Dusty incense-smell. Much better than Basjoe’s version. I made a mix of this and the Shiva and enjoyed relaxing, calming high leaving the mind active..
20e deal Kashmir 17e/g-Read about the kashmir hash on this forum recommended from someone who’d been in India(?) and said it was as good as anything they’d had whilst out there. One whiff and you know you’re in for a treat- this is the real deal black hash. Cool flannel to the face effect, longlasting creative high. Was great mixed in with jamaican & shiva. Went straight back for an extra 10e deal, was so excited by it I forgot to get the white gold hash I was after
Had a nice walk in Vondelpark with a couple of prerolls i made at De Graal, then stopped at the Pancake Carousel on the way back for mixed fruit poffertjes with ice cream & cream. And syrup. It was AMAZING, 9euro. Two cups of tea later I was ready to walk again, this time to pick up some gifts for ms puffpuffgive.
Holtkamp Bakery- this place is about halfway down Vijzelstraat and it’s not to be missed. Best munchies in Amsterdam, or a contender.
12 Koggertjes- Very thin crispy caramel biscuits. Heavenly.
12 Kaasenvaartjes- mini cheese straws. But the best, butteriest ones ever.
Meringue- it’s good meringue (was actually better last year).

0.5g Chiesel 11.50/g(?)- I was right next door and there no queue so I popped in and checked out the buds. I’ve never been a fan of diesel strains and I thought cheese would be too strong, but this smelt really nice so got half a gram. Great high, not heavy at all, delicious taste too. Will probably buy more next time.
Amnesia
10e Amnesia Potion ice hash 45e/g(?)- Sticky as fuck. Strong as fuck. Still nowhere near as good as that Tangerine Nectar. Didn’t spin me out like Amnesia weed tends to, thankfully.
Spent up my last euros on Purple Strawberry Bliss at Voyagers and chatted to the guys in there for a while whilst toking down my stash. Over to 420 as a customary last stop, I rolled one to smoke outside Centraal station. It was dark and rainy as I looked out from a corner of the bridge and took in the bright lights and sounds of the city’s facing side. Compact, humming with life and burning through the wet winter night- how long would it be until I gazed upon her face again? I raised my spliff in a final salute. I hate goodbyes, but I love final salutes
Wietpass:
I spoke to various people about the possible advent of a Wietpass. Everyone seemed very skeptical about the chances of it happening in Amsterdam which is reassuring. But ultimately, we’ll have to wait and see. There certainly wouldn’t be much resistance from the 2% of the dutch population that smoke weed- what would it matter to them? And stoners aren’t generally the activist type..!
Best munchies:

Ice hash verdict: Barneys Tangerine Nectar is all the best things about sativa concentrated up into gooey goodness. Bushdoctors Gran Daddy Melt Hash is rocket fuel, ramming you into the stratosphere in the highest possible way. Find it very hard to choose between them. Sensi Star hash next 'cos I actually really enjoy it and isn't too expensive, and Amnesia’s Amnesia Potion lags behind in in 4th, not justifying its high price tag.
Moneysaving tips:
-Buy snacks and drinks for your room or to carry around with you at Albert Heijn supermarket, not some tourist trap snack bar. Small bottles of water for 13 cents. Bugels, candies, fruit, sandwiches etc.
-If you get hungry passing through Schipol airport you can get a cheeseburger, chips (..fries) and drink and Burger King for only 1.99e. Ask for the ‘Cheeseburger King Deal’.
-After 6:30pm you can go to the counter at Centraal station (on the left as you walk in from outside) and get a ticket to Schipol airport for only 2.70e. I asked for a ticket to “centraal station”. The woman thought i was pretty stupid.
Conclusion:
This trip saw me less impressed with The Green Place than usual, and favouring milder buds, with possibly the standout smoke (tangerine nectar) coming from Barneys! Has the whole world gone crazy? It just goes to show.. something, I’m positive. I had a great time. Thanx for reading!

A wanted to hit up a bar in the RLD for a beer and to watch people going in and out of the kamers. We found it hilarious timing when punters went in and betting on how long it would take them to emerge, got the rest of the bar in on the action.

Had a pinball tournament with A & smoked up, quite a nice place and.... pinball!
Checked out the bud nothing stood out. The guy behind the counter recognised my God Dethroned tshirt and said “god dethroned is a fucking cool band man”, i noticed he was wearing a Morbid Angel tshirt. We chatted about metal for a while, apparently Napalm Death go to coffeeshop 36 and he knows them. We leave with a free pack of skins from the generous metalhead.Back to Lost In Amsterdam, met some cool blokes mark & dean from liverpool (hi guys) who we lounged & chatted with in the front window til they turfed us out at 1am.
Monday 24th
Awoke feeling fairly crappy, a shower & brekkie soon sorted that out. A knock on A’s door provoked only burbled nonsense so I set out for a morning walk, arriving again at Voyagers by a roundabout route for my morning gram of purple strawberry, (a new tradition?). Got a text from A saying he was going to HSB for a coffee so strolled over there. We sat on the comfy sofa with some dudes from manchester with whom we swapped stories and laughs.

1g Tidghin 10e- This is what I’ve been looking for, holy grail. I wanted to find a maroc hash as good and tasty as Alladin’s Chocolate from Popeyes, but for 10 euros instead of 15. This is, to me, indistinguishable from that hash. Light in colour and crumbly, delicious strong piney earthy smell & taste with an effect on the sinuses a little like a menthol cigarette. Strong uplifting sparkly high. Great on it’s own or mixed with weed. ‘Serving suggestion: Try weed’

I was headed for the Southern portion of the city and De Graal et a but got sidetracked here- I don’t think I can physically walk past this shop without going inside.
0.5g Green Crack- Very unremarkable. Do not recommend.

Skeptical about this place due to high prices and cannabis cup bullshit, but wanted dr grinspoon as hunters 100% sativa didn’t smell up to par.
1g Dr Grinspoon e?- Friendly helpful budtender scooped up a bunch of crystal from the bottom of the tray along with the shakey bud. Delicious hazey pineapple-tropical taste, light fruity zingy smell. Uppity high, no trace of heaviness. Great if u r into that.
0.4g-ish Tangerine Nectar 20e (45e/g, i think?)- ice hash made from their ‘cupwinner’. Looked at it under the microscope- an endless sea of perfect yellow-brown thc globules. Bought as much as I could with the money in my wallet. Came back the next day it was sold out, more being made. IF YOU SEE THIS ICE HASH IN STOCK, BUY IT!! Soft dark brown fudgey goodness, kind of hard to skin up but doesn’t really stick to your fingers that much. Amazing strong thc taste- this actually tastes good in a spliff on it’s own with baccy, a rarity amongst ice hashes. Incredibly strong sativa high. Feels like you could kick off and your heels would leave the ground. Buy it.

0.5g White Choco is this 8 or 9 euro a gram? it’s cheap- This stuff was GREAT! fruity and strong, skunky, more character than your standard cheese cross or amnesia and just as effective, and cheap. Will buy again.

Woke up early feeling good, shower, breakfast, packed up & prerolled a couple, final spliff out the high window. Dumping bag at reception I walked to City Hall & the post office on this beautiful sunny winter morning, stopping for a spliff on one of the little bridges on the way, and continuing southwards. Got the most amazing cheese croissant at Simon Meijsson bakery on Albert Cuypstraat- this bakery is possibly the best place ever. If you like food- go there.
De Graal
Awesome coffeshop. Friendly, local yet welcome to tourists. Homely living-room vibe. Sat in the comfiest leather armchair downstairs with a hot chocomel. Surrounded by books, I Iooked to my right and saw an ashtray on the coffee table next to me, jar of roaches and a lighter, candles- this place has everything!
5e deal Bio Shiva- Nice, clean bud. Not too strong.
5e deal Jamaican- brown thai weed-like stuff. Dusty incense-smell. Much better than Basjoe’s version. I made a mix of this and the Shiva and enjoyed relaxing, calming high leaving the mind active..
20e deal Kashmir 17e/g-Read about the kashmir hash on this forum recommended from someone who’d been in India(?) and said it was as good as anything they’d had whilst out there. One whiff and you know you’re in for a treat- this is the real deal black hash. Cool flannel to the face effect, longlasting creative high. Was great mixed in with jamaican & shiva. Went straight back for an extra 10e deal, was so excited by it I forgot to get the white gold hash I was after
Had a nice walk in Vondelpark with a couple of prerolls i made at De Graal, then stopped at the Pancake Carousel on the way back for mixed fruit poffertjes with ice cream & cream. And syrup. It was AMAZING, 9euro. Two cups of tea later I was ready to walk again, this time to pick up some gifts for ms puffpuffgive.
Holtkamp Bakery- this place is about halfway down Vijzelstraat and it’s not to be missed. Best munchies in Amsterdam, or a contender.
12 Koggertjes- Very thin crispy caramel biscuits. Heavenly.
12 Kaasenvaartjes- mini cheese straws. But the best, butteriest ones ever.
Meringue- it’s good meringue (was actually better last year).

Grey Area
0.5g Chiesel 11.50/g(?)- I was right next door and there no queue so I popped in and checked out the buds. I’ve never been a fan of diesel strains and I thought cheese would be too strong, but this smelt really nice so got half a gram. Great high, not heavy at all, delicious taste too. Will probably buy more next time.
Amnesia
10e Amnesia Potion ice hash 45e/g(?)- Sticky as fuck. Strong as fuck. Still nowhere near as good as that Tangerine Nectar. Didn’t spin me out like Amnesia weed tends to, thankfully.
Spent up my last euros on Purple Strawberry Bliss at Voyagers and chatted to the guys in there for a while whilst toking down my stash. Over to 420 as a customary last stop, I rolled one to smoke outside Centraal station. It was dark and rainy as I looked out from a corner of the bridge and took in the bright lights and sounds of the city’s facing side. Compact, humming with life and burning through the wet winter night- how long would it be until I gazed upon her face again? I raised my spliff in a final salute. I hate goodbyes, but I love final salutes
Wietpass:
I spoke to various people about the possible advent of a Wietpass. Everyone seemed very skeptical about the chances of it happening in Amsterdam which is reassuring. But ultimately, we’ll have to wait and see. There certainly wouldn’t be much resistance from the 2% of the dutch population that smoke weed- what would it matter to them? And stoners aren’t generally the activist type..!

Ice hash verdict: Barneys Tangerine Nectar is all the best things about sativa concentrated up into gooey goodness. Bushdoctors Gran Daddy Melt Hash is rocket fuel, ramming you into the stratosphere in the highest possible way. Find it very hard to choose between them. Sensi Star hash next 'cos I actually really enjoy it and isn't too expensive, and Amnesia’s Amnesia Potion lags behind in in 4th, not justifying its high price tag.
Moneysaving tips:
-Buy snacks and drinks for your room or to carry around with you at Albert Heijn supermarket, not some tourist trap snack bar. Small bottles of water for 13 cents. Bugels, candies, fruit, sandwiches etc.
-If you get hungry passing through Schipol airport you can get a cheeseburger, chips (..fries) and drink and Burger King for only 1.99e. Ask for the ‘Cheeseburger King Deal’.
-After 6:30pm you can go to the counter at Centraal station (on the left as you walk in from outside) and get a ticket to Schipol airport for only 2.70e. I asked for a ticket to “centraal station”. The woman thought i was pretty stupid.
Conclusion:
This trip saw me less impressed with The Green Place than usual, and favouring milder buds, with possibly the standout smoke (tangerine nectar) coming from Barneys! Has the whole world gone crazy? It just goes to show.. something, I’m positive. I had a great time. Thanx for reading!
