HI GUYS !

My name is stefano, and i'm new to the forum!

I'm heading to Amsterdam for my birthday at the start of March, it will be the first real time visiting the city!

I visited Amsterdam earlier this year however I was only in the centre for a few hour as i had a ferry to catch!

Basically i'm looking for some good tips on where to find the best coffee shops that play techno & house or generally cool electronic beats

I open to any comments peoples!

Baba and Hunters on Warmostraat(sp?) both were playing Techno/House when I was there in August. Pretty sure they were playing electronica in Dampkring too but I was so baked it's hard to say with any certainty :p

Every time I've been in Rokerij on a Friday and Saturday night they place house music. Friday night they have a DJ. Not seen one on Saturday but maybe I've left too early.

They play the fucking best techno/house music.

Thanks for the heads up on rokerij.... only problem is they've always been assholes and not too friendly....

does this apply to all the Rokerij coffeshops, as I've heard there is a few?? or is it one in particular?

Coffeeshop 36 always plays techno/trance tunes. And the sofa seats overlooking the channel on Damrak are very nice.

Siberie has been known to dish out some tech-house type stuff

It seems the DJ is often the budtender, no matter where you go.

stavrino.... i've been to 3 of them.... and got the same vibe from all.... they're just not really friendly at all. it was like night to day from other spots.... but they had some pretty good weed.... i think white shark bio??

My first coffeeshop on my first trip to Amsterdam, almost 10 years ago.
Their Siberian Tiger was my first smoke in the dam. No more in stock nowadays, but lately I sampled their Dieselmania and the Mango Haze and wasn't disappointed.
Nice vibe, friendly budtender, good product selection and perfect location on one of the most beautiful channel of the city.
A must for me.
