Going for a maiden voyage with 5-6 people on Feb19th. We will land at 8am on a Sunday and leaving the following Saturday afternoon.
Looking for your advice on the best late night places to chill out. (Other than Basjoe)
A mix of smoke, drinking and live music or at least good music is what we are looking for. Thanks!
(Yes I am new, and yes I have read ALL of the newbie material and extensive travel logs)

There are several late night spots, what type of music are you after?
Peace,
Balou

Not super picky.... appreciate all kinds of music. But rock, reggae, jam, punk. Not that into house or trance stuff.

you might like Kashmir Lounge... check what music is on before you go, it can be pretty gruesome if you hit the wrong night

Amnesia is great for large groups. Weed is expensive so stock up elsewhere (e.g. de pijp) and then just buy a token 1 or 2g.

Thanks, we'll check it out. Planning on Paradox being my "next door" spot for gear.

Live Music -
Leideseplein!!!
At the
Last Waterhole, smoker friendly and happy hour pints from 14:00 til 21:00. All sorts of live music being played in there.
http://www.waterhole.nl/ Open until at least 04:00.
Maloe Melo - the self proclaimed home of the blues
I think it's smoker friendly, open late.
http://www.maloemelo.nl/index2.html
Bourbon Street -
Not smoker friendly AFAIK, but open late and a decent music room.
http://www.bourbonstreet.nl/
Jazz - Jazz Cafe Alto.
Open late, smoker friendly or least was to me once as I torched up in there very late.

Of the above, all but Maloe Melo are within a two minute walk. Of course Melkweg and Paradiso are in the area, but they are mostly concert halls.
Korsakoff -
Never been in for music (afternoon beer IIRC), but it seems like there is a lot of black and leather involved.

Sugar Factory - also just by Leidseplein. Open late on weekends.
