Er, I mean, yes, I'll get to that soon, but I bought 3 specials of that, so fragrant and stickier than a sticky stick (you wanna big stick?) . I rated Katsu in my top 3 faves of the trip, Black Widow! Haze 2O!! Crystal Clear!!! A great shop that.
Will continue my saga tomorrow.

Ye gods, the further in time I get from the trip, the less real it becomes.
Or was it just because I was incredibly high for the duration, anyway so we're starvacious by this point, and we had decided on Gaucho's for Birthday dinner, due to the awesomeness of the steak frites on my 1st night, and that was a total result again, the main difference being that I traded up to a 400g fillet from 300g, medium rare, perfect.
So what on earth are we going to do all night now, was the rhetorical question asked by absolutely no-one as it was clear that the smoke-a-thon must continue, or in the Doric of my native land, Smoke Aa Thon (trans. smoke all of that, soft th sound, like 'the'). I wanted to get some more Durban Poison, amongst other things, so 'twas a quich wander from Leidseplein to Homegrown Fantasy (again) for 2g of DP, can't remember what anyone else got. As ever it was fuckin' roastin' in that place, and it took 10 mins to acclimatise, got the big table at the front though, and we got a good hour or so chongin, before moving on. Next stop, the 420 cafe, have they stopped calling it De Kuil? I aint scared of a bit of Zappa, unless its his orchestral stuff, and I chew up classic rocks for breakfast, needless to say I liked it, Blueberry 2gs, was only going to have 1, but this batch was particularly awesome in smell and texture, even to one of my limited olfactory senses (bad sinuses or somesuch).
Here my memory fails, but I'm certain we just got the tram back to the flat, smoking until oblivion beckons, bit of Can, bit of Stones, nice.

Quite near the southwestern edge, 3e Kostverlorenkade, just up from where the Overtoom crosses over to Surinameplein. Booked it through Get Ready Rentals Ams, can recommend as all was good.
Tomorrow, or whenever, Shit Gets Serious aka Time for some Ice-o.
Glasgow is shit for doober just now, *sighs*

Woop woop, typical, finishing my January travelogue in June, didn't like writing this shit on the pc I was on, knowharramean. There is no point in me pretending to carry this on in the day-by-day style, January might as well be the fuckin 80s or something, so this instalment is more, shall we say, Impressionistic, a bit Pissarro, bit Renoir.
Here are bits that I can definitely put in temporal context;
So yeah, the next day (Tuesday)we went to Katsu, and the first cannabnoid challenge rears it's head, as this is the first place to have a truly awe-inspiring ice selection. (locates book full of varieties tried, written when memory was fresher) . Ah yeah, So I got some Black Widow, as I liked the description, Some Super Jamaican to use as joint filler, and Some Nepalese Ice, and some Mexican Ice Cream. The Mex wins the award for stickiest substance encountered, might have been something else entirely if I'd hung about the RLD, but hey. The Mex stuck to the bag without the slightest provocation, had to scrape it off later, fuck yeah, just checking it I was impressed, getting the smoke on was immense. I'm trying to remember what the rest of the crew ordered. J got the Crystal Clear, which I later had a run in with, A got the Haze 2 0 crystals, M and S got the Morrocan Ice (if only M&S did that shit, oh man), can't remember what CM, N and I got, probably some insane shit. Anyhoo, got a bong, and set to it for an hour or so. Our first and only real whiteout casualties occurred here, no names, no pack drill, no shame, given the quality, but I was fine you'll be glad to hear, I'd put the training in. After that we wandered into town, food/wandering about. I was impressed with Katsu though, great shit/nice vibe.
Can't remember if this wander was the one we reached Bluebird in, if it was it was a good few hours later, I got Kushadelic, as I had way too much on me by this stage, what was that HST said about a man in the grip of a serious drug acquisition trip, yeah, that. We split in 2, Dirty Euro-Jointers to the smoking room, Me, I, S and CM to the Volcano Alley, fucking ridiculous business all round, 25 bags later I nearly nodding out S burbling about broken brains or summat, good work all round.
Can't remember if this was the night of the Ultra-Joint or not, I made two joints so fearsome that they were named; Ultra-Joint, or Birthday joint had a bit of everything I had, shit, nearly 20 bags, and lots of contributions from the posse, just lighting the fucker set off the smoke detector>instant panic..."whuddafuk". The other Spliffmatron was called Cornucopia as it 'just' had a bit of everything I had, but in an only slightly extended frame (one King, with regular skin on end in L shape, U-J was an L frame made only with Kings). I didn't make any Tripods or Tulips as there was no-one there I was trying to impress, only Functional Weapons of Much Distortion.
Wednesday we went to the Zoo, it was all right, but all the cool animals looked well fucked off, at least the aquarium beasts are too stupid to know the score. After we met J in T'Overkant Hortus where he'd been waiting/baking for ages. Bought weird shit called 'Yellow'
It was yello, cheap n OK, but looked more like a grow gone awry, rather than a strain. ach it's all grist to the mill by this point. Actually, now is possibly when we went to Bluebird.
After that I rather think we went to the Green Place (got Headband, fuckin great) checked Voyager (no butter y'say, Quelle Surprise, got alright Cheese and split). The posse fractured and some of us later reconvened in Harlemmerstr GreenHouse.
Will complete soonish (not December).
EDIT-didn't see it Toker 21, is that near De Baarsjes/Kostverlorenkade, damn, means I'll have to return, shit.

Yeah, I thought I'd better wrap this up, given that my next trip has started being provisionally planned, next April, anyone reckon they'll be having a closing down sale of isos and hashes? I hope not, even if 'twould be to my short-term benefit, an arbitrary 15% rule is ludicrous, are they going to apply a CBD offset against the 15%, given the antipsychotic qualities of the Stone cannabinoid. Of course not, because that would involve nuance, subtlety, and all those other attributes eternally absent from posturing prohibitionists. You'd think that the wonders of the Endocannabinoid System were yet to be discovered, rather than being unravelled as we speak, thank fuck the science, (well the real empirically based science, rather than the propaganda issued by bought and paid for crypto-scientitionists) is on our side.
Ahem. So basically I can't remember what order anything is in now, well the ECS does regulate the deletion of excess data, so I'll just sum up the rest of the trip best as possibly.
Thursday was the posse's last full day, so we just wandered around a bit more fragmentally, getting the vibezz etc, all I can vouch for was that later on I met J at the Kashmir, which none of us had been in, and I got Planken recommended, so 1g, Texel's Finest 1g as I had given up getting mild landrace herb for joint bulker, in favour of NL outdoor, woop woop indeed. Also one of the standout purchases of the whole trip was the Jelly Ice in here, put the dunt in us both big time. That was really late at night, some of the others were truffleing that night, but I was too tired, so saved mine.
Friday was vacate the apartment day, always melancholeric, particularly with late sleeping deposit-endangering pendejos delaying shit. Thankfully I got away with it, as no-one else was moving straight in. So then the posse left for Centraal to stash the luggage/visit the Post Office before evening departure 6-ish, and I decanted my stuff to my next residence, the Heemskerk behind the Concertgebouw. Checked in, paid up in advance (so I didn't spend it, they definitely approved of this), rendez-vous back at the 420 Cafe,Blueberry? why not. Then E wanted to see more things, which is fair enough, so we went to the quarter/third of the Rijksmuseum that is actually open. Very dissapointing, and as the holder of a 2:1 in History of Art I know of what I speak. There were hardly any of the flower paintings of Bosschaert et al, not enough game pieces, or still lives in general, or Hals. Next time I must at least get to Haarlem for his gallery, amongst other attractions. Anyway, I saw some of the hits, me and M had split half an acid (half for a laugh), so my eyes/cortex were a bit skewed, however I insist that my critical faculties were unaffected. J, N and A didn't come to the RM, so the last I saw they were onna TNT mission. CM had departed on the Thursday, so it was just me, M, E and S, so I got them to the station around 6 ish, dark and pissing of rain, saw them off, and wallowed in the exquisite melancholy of the moment, we had a great time as a group, but that must pass, and so I go forward to the solo/family part of the voyage. I walked back skirting the RLD heading roughly in the direction of the Heemskerk,I could have, maybe should have gone into the Bluebird, but continue on, but the rain intensifies to the point that it is coming through my jacket, so as I see a familiar sign, i realise that I must be at Waterlooplein, and that glow must be Greenhouse Namaste, any port in a storm. Not so keen on the buzzer door, I did feel that I HAD to buy weed to get in, but I was going to anyway, so 1g NYCD, couple of cuppas warm up and dry out. So back to the Heemskerk, quick change and out for ma tea. Went to Cafe Lusthof just along from the Concertgebouw, nice Steak and a beer for under 20 yoyos, yaas min. I think afterwards was the 1st time I went into De Graal, which I liked a lot, no effort to cater to the tourist, it felt like a local social club, and then I realised that they had a band practised space at the back. Aww man, that must be about the best space in the world, not that i saw inside, or heard it, but c'mon, Band Practise at a c/s (1g Shamaan outdoor, 1g Shiva), all the inspiration one could need, tripped out freakathons galore.
Saturday I took that truffle, and watched the art-deco green bulbous lampshade pulsate for a while before going for a walk in the park with a couple of ital bifters, before I knew it I was at the far end, near where the apartment had been, so I decided to go to Boerejongens again. Man, there was a big queue, Saturday afternoon style, and it was a bit mental, but I was holding it together alright, and then made my selection easily enough, though the guy probably sussed me a bit (1g Laughing Buddha and 1g Chocolope) but then I asked the guy to write on it what each were as I hadn't clocked the details, then, when he looked at me askance for not being able to instantly eyeball that one was outdoorsy looking, against the super strength and tight cystalline of the Chocolope, and I got a wave of super self conscious trippy paranoia, shit, yeah, its obvious, they're all thinking idiot tripping lunatic etc etc, classic. Then went back and came down, vibed to some tunes, crap on the telly, scran from Albert Heijn, get ripped, nicely.
Next Episode; 1 more day in the Dam before a quick diversion to Switzerland and 3 nights in the Bernese Oberland

Fantastic report!! Makes me miss A'dam even more than usual. One of these years I need to return and act upon a few of your recommendations. Oh and congratulations on being tobacco free. I quit that shite 4+ years ago and I can now actually enjoy the subtle tastes my smoke (and everything else...)
Cheers!!

Great read that.
Oh, and i'm nominating this for quote of the year...
Some of y'all may prefer a more nuanced account of the specific cannabinoids I was consuming, maybe in retrospect so would I, but when you wake up in a world of cornucopia, its only fair to run amok.
My thoughts exactly, i'm sure i shared this sentiment on a TR last year, it's nice to see it put so perfectly.
Looking forward to the April report already.
